Stay away
I have worked for the company for 4 years now and the only thing i have learned is how not to treat people. i mean debt collection is a big part of the job, but when your store manager intentionally has you breaking laws and then threatening your job if you don't. I mean that isn't professional.
Then you have DM's playing favortism with female employees and tell their cowokers how the have "integraty" issues. I am now on workmans comp for a injury and the employees and store manager tell the customers i have been fired c'mon now !!! The company doesn't care about there employees or their customers they care about their income and who they can screw next. They always asked us wheather we thought rac was a job or a career and if we where honest and not being a "poster boy" as they label you, then they would just tell you to pack your stuff because your always replacable. I mean really... DM's or market managers would you all work every day in this job because this is what you love to do?... Didn't think so and if so your a *** liar and you all need some severe training on how to train and be leaders.

Worst business I've ever dealt with
I have seen some rip offs in my life but Rent A Center has got to be the worst ever! On a $450.00 sale, NOT RENT, over $300 paid. Late 2X but always paid. Went in to pay and they said "nope" coming to get the furniture! Even if I wanted to pay it off, nope! So that's how they make their money by ripping people off, then reselling it again! And wasn't repaired as they said they would! I've never seen a business this bad in my life and I'm 70 years old. This was my grandson. NEVER EVER do business with them. A shame!

Horrible
We went on 5/21 to check out the deal of the rent a center. We waited b/c they were busy making phone calls to remind people their payments were due or answering phone calls of customers returning calls that their bill was due. Finally one guy helped us but he seemed a little uncertain of the information we wanted. Finally after an hr and half we were signing paperwork for a bedroom set and mattress. He stated the delievery date would be 5/26 between 1 and 5 pm. well its 6:40p and no delievery. Not even a curtousy call to say they would be late. I called at 5p and some nasty guy answered and stated with an attitude they will be there shortly and hung up on me. 6:30p my husband called and wanted to speak with a manager and he could not give us an answer but after 10 minutes on hold said within a half hour. Understandably this is a business for those who really can't afford to go to regular places and pay out right but no one has to be treated this way. My husband took off for what? I will never use this company again and will tell everyone. UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND JUST PLAIN STUPID...

Bed bugs
You guys rock!!! Thank-you!!! I've had numerous e-mails and phone calls due to my posting. RentaCenter is contaminating Arizona, Ohio, New York and many other places with bedbugs. We had a K-9 unit here in Arizona visit various RAC locations. 60 percent infested is what the exterminator has told us. CBS has come and filmed our house and plans to expose them. They (RAC) offered a paltry amount of 7000.00. (yes, they have admitted guilt but we have to sign a disclosure saying the RAC is not responsible and we can't discuss the settlement.)
It will take 10 grand just to tent the house. My cats are infested and now my bird. Good news is that last night I only had 17 bites. (this is a vast decrease over other nights) They don't even come out at night anymore but are bold enough to come out of the light sockets and dance on the ceiling during the day. We have eggs hatching out of our clothes and they are really fast looking to get their first blood meal. I have a bedbug embedded in my ear and am going to require hospitalization to remove it..as well as skin infections (from scratching), anxiety and depression. I AM a pissed off & disgusted consumer...for sure. THX

Harassment
I bought furniture from RAC, about 10, 000.00 dollars worth. I have paid one package off and only owe 2, 000.00 dollars. I have recently been laid off and my husbands hours have been cut, I always make my payments, they are sometimes late but always paid. RAC-Rent a center reps call and harrass me making threats, they call my parents in Ohio, my daughter in abingddon and show up at my house making threats, I have tried to work with them with no avail, I can't take the harrassment anymore. I will never use this company again nor will I refer anyone to them. I want them to leave me alone and let me pay off my merchandise. They will not work with anyone.

Referrals
I am a single parent and just trying to make it in this economy. Every chance I have to make it a little easier I do. Well those comercials you see about Rent A Center referrals are a bunch of BS! I have been a loyal Rent A Center costomer for quit some time. I at one time enjoyed renting from them. I have now been accused of stealing a washer and dryer that there manager sold to myself and my father. It turned out that there manager was tking money from the store and they had the nerve to call me and ask me to come up and continued to inform me that my washer and dryer was not paid for and that I would prob have to talk to the police because they did not show that I paid for it and I didn't have a reciept for it I had paid for it in cash and the manager was un able to give me a reciept at that time that I could come back and pick on up when the printer was fixed, Needless to say that I was in there paying my bill on a diffrent item and low and behold once a agian they said that they could not print me a reciept because the printer was down after just pretty much accusing me that I didn't pay for my other stuff because I didn't have the reciept 4 months later??? What the heck??? Finnally it was resolved and I still have my washer and dryer. Now I just found out that I had 42 refurrals saved up to help pay for my tv, because being a single parent I need help sometimes so I have those to help when needed and I worked my butt off to get them!!! I find out that they are now taking those away from me? How can they so that???? I earned them, the new manager told me him self how many I had and that I was able to use them how I wanted too???? Now he is taking them away? This is truely unfair How can they keep accuseing customers of things then taking what they have earned away??? I am in shock and in a lost for words. Is this even legal???

Harrasment
Rent A Center Grass Valley Never go there find other means if you are not credit worthy, they will harrasment you call you names, call your friends, employers, make you feel like crap when you are trying to rebuild your credit.All rent a centers I have heard use these tactics. They have threatened me in so many wrong levels. These people need to go out of business by no one ever going there no matter how desperate you mauy be. Their items for sale is nothing but cheap crap.You will be very very sorry if you ever use these people.

Rip off
I went to rentacenter to purchase a new bedroom set..made my initial payment...on the day that they were supposed to deliver...they called and said that the set would not fit my bed(i asked this b4 signing up)...then I chose another set and when it arrived it was used...the old used set is just 3 bucks cheaper than the new one...why cause they are scam artists...i tried to get my prices adjusted, but they were rude and told me that they would be happy to come get it...prolem...no money back...PISSED

Never had a problem with RAC
Guess I was just lucky. I never had any problems with RAC, except for as I was getting close to paying off the items in less than 90 days, they tried to talk me into buying more stuff that I didn't need. I paid off my stuff the day before my 90 days was up, and Im glad that I did cause otherwise I would have paid 4 times the price. Oh, and I inspected ALL the cracks and crevices with a strong flashlight to avoid bedbugs, and all you folks out there would be wise to do the same.

They need to go out of business!!
Rent a center is a rip off!!! I rented a 32inch. TV that basically ended up being more than a 52inch is worth. I am so pissed I even let my BF talk me into getting the *** TV. I went into Best Buy and found the same exact TV for $400.00!!! They are rude and go by what ever means to collect there money/and or merchandise. They went as far as contacting my landlord for a payment. I have dealt with them for a over year now. The harass you at work and they are extremely unprofessional!! It's horrible!! I wouldn't recommend anyone to rent from this company ever!!! They aren't reasonable and could care less about you or your well being!!! This company should seriously consider going out of business!!!
