Terrible ways they treat customers
I rented a couch from rent a center in franklin indiana I have had issues and filed complaints with the company and gotten no where. The first sign of trouble was when a certain employee would call me days before my payment was even due asking when i would be making the payment and was even calling relatives and the payment wasnt even due yet. I had become due on my account and during that time I recieved several calls from this place I mean they would call and then hang up and call back again and again with in seconds of the call. They would even go as far as blocking there number . I recived a call one evening from an employee the one employee that has been causing all the stress from his personal cell phone after the store was closed for business by about an hour to hour and a half after they were closed for the day. During this converstion he became loud yelling at me talking very rude name calling I had place the call on speakerphone so my husband could hear and He called me a lying fing bitch. My husband went to the store the next day and of course he and the store manager denied it all the way. Even the boss of that store didnt do anything about the way I was treated. This past incident put my anger and frustration over the top 2 employees showed up at my place of work while i wasnt there and my elderly mother in law was there alone. He was intimidating rude and hateful They discussed my account with her while she wasnt on my account anywhere. They stood in front of the door was saying very rude hateful things about me saying i was a liar i had no respect for anyone and was a terrible person no human being should be spoke to or about in that manner. I have filed complaints with the bbb. the attorney general of indiana and with the company and nothing has been done the person over this specific store stood up for the employee that has gone above and beyond the meaning of poor customer service. Im appualed of how terrible this company has been I would never reccommend this store to anyone This employee should be fired and never have a job in customer service again. My couch should be paid for and my obligation to the company resloved.

Nasty and pushy manager
The manager in port st. lucie florida is nasty. She doesn't work with anyone. I have purchased and paid off a lot of things there. This week in August is a little tough. We have 6 people in this house I know I am late on payment by a few days I have no problem paying a late fee. Very nasty she said either pay today or I will pick it up. I said then pick it up I can't pay today. I told her 5:30 she said she'll be here a 6:00, I is a washer and dryer that I have had for 2 years now. I have purchase from you two coach a mattress and box spring, computer and now a washer and dryer. You have always been understanding and polite until she started working here. It is the one on US1 in florida. Thank you I will now do my business elsewhere.

Never deal with them
I have a washer and dryer the manager saidfor them to pick up the stuff. i said i would pay within 3 days plus my next payment before the day and still they are on the way as i am typing to pick up this is s---. i guess i will never refer them to anyone or shop at rentacenter again in and after life!!!the company is in coneyisland on mermaid ave

i heard when i went to the store that a customer was behind in payments from over two months and she still gave them a chance .well anyway they over charge people if you dont buy it in 3 months. never deal with them!!!

Horrible and rude
I rent a washer, dryer and refridgerator for RAC. I am a few days late because we had major problems while on vacation with a leak and my car messing up. They came by while I was at work. I work at night and it is very difficult to do things during the day while I am on my stretch of 12 hour shifts. I left a note on my front door that I would be in on Thursday to pay as soon as my pay got depositedl Apparantely, they cannot read of just don't give a ***. I specifically said do not knock on the door because I sleep during the day. They not only knocked on the door they beat on the door for about 15 minutes and I just let them beat on it. I thought they would tear it down. They are very rude and I am thinking of just returning the items and going to pay cash for them somewhere else..

Kicked my door and damaged my home
First and foremost, I agree that my payment was late. However, while my 12 year old son was here alone at my home, two Rent-A-Center employees came to my home kicking and pounding my front and back doors for over a half an hour, damaging my front door and knocking numorous items off of my walls. My child was scared to death and hiding when I arrived home. My neighbors were shocked and were ready to call the police when just as they finally realized that maybe we weren't home and left. I am shocked that they allow and condone this behavior from their employees. I counted 18 phone calls in an hour when my payment was only 1 day late! This company needs investigated.

bed bugs
We recieved mattresses from RAC in March. We were assured that the mattresses were brand new. It even states that in our contract. In June my husband started getting mysterious bites on his body.(arms legs back) Since we didnt know what it was we simply put some anti-itching cream on it. as July came along his bites had gotten considerably worse. They were so bad that they were distracting him at his job so he had to take a day off to go to our family practitioner. At one in the morning we were going to go to bed in our room. When we went inside there was two bugs crawling over the RAC bed. When he killed it blood squirted out staining our walls and floor. We flipped the mattress over and they were there just crawling waiting to feast on our blood. We paniced so we went to wake up our children to see if they to, were infested. In my daughter's room we flipped over her mattress which was the only one not from RAC and found it spotless. Relieved we went into my son's room hoping for the same result. We flipped over his mattress which was from RAC and sure enough there were bed bugs leaving their waste all over it. The next day my son and husband had to leave very early but got little sleep. My daughter and I decided to call RAC and demand that these mattresses were to be tooken away immediatly. When my husband got home from work we had found 3 more live bed bugs scuttling across our bedroom floor. My husband killed them and we brought it as a type of evidence to the RAC. When they saw us they told us that they were still waiting on the manufacturer. I asked them what to do with the mattresses? They replied to throw them away but keep the tags. I then asked for a copy of the contract we had signed and had my daughter read it over carefully. We discovered that if we moved the mattresses ourselves out of the apartment it would be a breach in our contract. So, of course we called back and tey told us that they were not aware of this and they would send someone to collect the infested mattresses. They never followed through on that promise so we called again today. The manager of the store said they would collect them for sure. It is currently 2:00 pm and no one has called us back. When I called back to ask if my money would be returned the manager said no it wouldnt with a rude attitude. I am now talking to lawyers and the health places. RAC is not to be trusted and they are going to be VERY sorry they tried to fck me over.

Beware
Im a very unhappy customer at this point and all they have to say is that i should choose a smaller tv.i just made my first payment on a 42 inch panasonic plasma tv.when we did the contracts and the paper work, the sales person failed to point out that there was tax and insurance that would make the price go from 27.99 to 37.00. im pretty pissed thats 10 bucks a week more that i have to pay every week for the next 2 years.the manager wsa completely rude and spoke to me like i was an idiot, when i asked why it was 10 dollars more than we planned on, im probably going to give the tv back and put one on layaway at k mart, the same tv for half the price, i was dumb to be sold on this deal, im never going there again.

They are rude
I got an 18 hour long video on my computer that i rent from rac of them talking about stealing money from customers and talking very badly and using very upscence language. and when i confront them about it they said noone that works there uses that type of language. also i rented a bed set from them before that and returned it due to price raise and me and my boyfriend were being eaten alive by something i have scaps all over my back that are just now starting to go away. and they say they have a worryfree guarntee laughin my *** off i could get any of my money back on that. and now im renting something else from them thinkin that the money i spent on the bed would go to computer like they stated but didnt. surprize not really after watch video. i will be postin on youtube if you want to watch its called rent a center when nobodys watching.

harassment, unfair debt collection

We need to unite to file a class action suit. I have spoken with an attorney, please contact his office : RAC has done a great deal from unfair debt collection practices, harassment, deceptive prices . His name and office numbers are below: PLEASE CALL TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A CASE AND CAN BE ADDED .

Bad customer service
I went to make my payment i was late 5 days i told the rent a center people that on friday i will make my payment, and i did firts they told me they need two payments on that day, and my next due date was next day i went after work on friday to make my payment, and i always answer the phone and treat pleople with respect, im happy to do business with renta center is not fair that one cashier with no education make the company look bad this person he did not give me my receipt and was treating it like a joke in front of the manager and employes.
