Faulty Billing
I was asked to join by a family member so our large family that is scattered across the U.S. can keep in touch. I selected the 3 month service($36). However, when I was billed I was charged $60. I did not chose the 1 year-$60 option. In contacting the company I got nowhere because they state there are no refunds. Warning: Do not give this company ANY of your money. From reading the other comments I am lucky to only be out $60 and get out now. There are many who have been falsely overcharged hundreds of $$$$.

Disceptive business practices
I kept receiving thru my email notices from reunion.com that someone was trying to find me. At least once a day. So, on October 20, 2008 I logged in and the info on the front screen was that a premium member charge would be $5 a month. I was interested to find out who was looking for me so a thought that they charged by the month and initiated it with my credit card.
I then found out that there was no one looking for me that I would know and they put a $60 charge on my account. I immediately emailed them and requested they stop my subscription and credit my account. I did not hear from them and they put the charge thru my credit card. I tried to reach them thru their customer service number but no one answers the phone. You should nto allow this deception to be used on good people thru Yahoo.

Was billed after I cancelled
1st grievance: I joined reunion.com for only 3 months; I was charged for the entire year. Reunion.com credited me the balance after I complained. Ok, so they did something decent.
2nd grievance: Ater the 3 months, my credit card was charged AGAIN for a yearly subscription even though I had already disabled the automatic update feature.
I submitted a problem ticket a week ago and have not been contacted within the promised 24 hour time period. I have logged several updates to the problem with no response being given.
There is no PHONE NUMBER to call and I am out $65!
DO not trust this website; do NOT give them your credit card number.

Avoid them like plague
Reunion.com - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I received an innocuous email from a friend of mine, and thought I might join the Reunion.com website, but I was extremely offended when my contacts started getting "imported" into their system WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. This disgusting bit of news was then made worse when they had the nerve to send emails to these people! Again, I DID NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR THIS! I even tried to back out of their system but the emails went through anyway!
Some evil marketing creep is using the guise of a Classmates type organization to suck email addresses out of people's contact lists and SELL THEM no doubt to more unscrupulous companies. I lodged a complaint with Reunion.com and was told to expect a response within 24 hours, but I'll bet you can guess whether they responded or not!
Thank God I never gave them a credit card number!!! Avoid that website like the plague!

Unauthorized charges
I kept getting advertisements from these people in every email account I had with messages that this or that person was looking for me (which was not true), and they advertised membership for only $5.00 a month. Since I am on disability I figured I could squeeze $5.00 into my monthly budget, but the next day I discovered they had debited my account for $60.00. I immediately wrote them by email stating that their advertising was false, that I could not afford $60.00, that I had 72 hours legally to change my mind, and to please refund my money. I never heard a word.
Tonight I received one of their notices in my email, and when I went to log in I was told that I did not have a membership. I was outraged and sent them an email to that effect. Most of the time when they send messages that someone is 'looking' for you, that in fact is not the truth. It is simply a ploy to lure you to their site.
Please do not be suckered in by these people. Their business practices are sleazy at best.

Fraud and scam
Here's a good one for all of you who signed up with Reunion.com... THEY SELL YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSES!!!
I signed up using a fake name/screenname and have now gotten continuous unsolicited emails all addressed to that fake user name! The ONLY place on the web that I used that fake name was on Reunuion.com! Not only would I recommend NOT paying for a subscription, for your own safety and security, don't even register with them!!

Horrible customer service
This online business is run by idiots. For several months now, I have been trying to communicate with these people about my name not appearing in the alphabetical listing. I paid for a year's subscription and inquired as to why my name was not included in this listing. After nine weeks of emails, the "outcome" answer I got was that "the list must not update very often"... this response was from their tech dept.!! I was told by different customer service employees everything from, "it takes 10 business days", or "it does show up but not if you are searching for yourself" (NOT true). I told them that I just wanted a refund for my annual membership but they completely ignored that issue. Half the time my emails were just ignored and when someone finally did answer, the reason for not getting back to me sooner was "I was out sick for the past week".
And, I get emails EVERY DAY which contain the SAME info!!! Also, have you noticed that their website is slow as $@#*??? They have lost a customer, that's for sure! And, thanks to all of you for the heads up on how they automatically renew your subscription! Ill be on the alert for that!!

Poor customer service and unapproved charge
I would not recommend the services of Reunion.com. I signed up for their 1 yr of service two years ago. I cancelled two years ago right after the service started to avoid a monthly fee.
I was in the process of closing out my checking account this month (2 years from my original charge)...without any warning from Reunion.com, they charge my account for a year subscription and over-drafted my account. I called the next day and after being on hold for 40 minutes, was told that it would take 7-10 days to refund my money and that they were sorry about the overdraft fee of $50. I also emailed them a complaint.
This is the 9th business day and I have not received any return email and no money refunded.
