Unethical, no customer service!
As many others have found, once you subscribe to this site you cannot get off!!! I tried to re-close my account or at least disable the annual renewal (I closed the account a year ago)and was unable to access my own account on the web site. There was an endless loop where they told me my email address was invalid and that they had sent me an email with directions. No email. No directions. Try again... endlessly. I called the customer service line. I was on hold for an average of 45 minutes each time I called. I never spoke to anyone. After a long period of time listening to muzak and repeated recorded messages about how important my call was, the phone began to ring. After 143 rings (the last time) I hung up. There seems to be no way to end this mess. I literally have had no contact from them for a year. Suddenly, I get a debit from my account that I have not authorized. There is a way to disable the automatic renewal, but in order to do that you must be able to access your account. Here comes the loop again. I am frustrated, angry and a bit disgusted. How do these people sleep at night?

All my friends got spammed!
I got a message from a friend asking me to join the site. When I joined, it offered to check my Gmail contacts to see if there were any matches within their database. Against my better judgement, I allowed the site to do so. Only after I clicked OK did I notice the fine print that said that the site would send invitations to all of my contacts in my name!!! These contacts include my boss, my ex-girlfriends, my bank representative... I spent the rest of the morning apologizing to my relatives and friends. When I wrote the friend who had initially asked me to join, she told me that she had fallen for the same thing, and that's why I got the initial invite.
I find this "feature" exquisitely irritating. Also, their "free" subscription seems to be ridiculously limited: you start getting messages saying that there are folks trying to contact you, but you have to buy a paid subscription to see who they are. Read the other comments on this complaints site to see how THAT goes. I will not pay a cent to these people and I plan to drop the site immediately.
But now this site has all of my email contacts. I'm VERY nervous about what they will do with this info.

Unsolicited mailings
Reunion.com is poaching their members email accounts and sending emails to all contacts, asking them to join reunion.com. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and if you lost money to them, you should also.

Cancellation scam!
In March of 2006 I signed up for premium membership for one full year at Reunion.com for $36.00. The site wasn't very helpful to me so I stopped visiting all together after the first couple of days. In March of 2007 I was automatically charged another $36.00 for a years worth of service because I had not unsubscribed before the cutoff date. After discovering this I tried to login to my account, but I couldn't remember my password. I submitted a request that they email my password to me, but I never received that email.
Another year has gone by and I have been charged another $36.00. I have again requested that my password be emailed to me and 24 hours later, I have not received it.
Since I can't cancel my account because I'm unable to login, and since Reunion.com refuses to email my password to me, it looks like I'm going to billed $36.00 every year.

Unauthorized charges!
I was searching for an old friend, reunion.com claimed through people search they could find them, phone numbers addresses etc., they charge $5 per month for a twelve month period or $8 per month for a six month membership. I said no problem, I can get my information needed and if I decide to cancel, which they claimed could be done at any time but you could not get a refund for the time used.
I gave them my creditcard they then charged my card the entire $60, not the $5, stated and you have to pay additional monies if you want the information from People Search so I called them immediately and told them they had mislead me and I didn't authorize a payment of $60, I was told I could get no refund for being a member of all 10 minutes. I can cancel but with no refund. That is ridiculous and a fraud!

I just tried calling Reunion.com AGAIN and got a machine. It''s not even 10:30 on a weekday morning and they aren't working. What kind of company is this?

Horrible customer service
The customer service at reunion.com is horrible, and they've wasted my time for two days now. They treat me like a joke and get angry with me when I ask for someone who can understand me. My first language is English and I am being forced to explain in very, very simple terms what I want. Even then, I get put on hold. Reunion.com will be running themselves out of business if they keep employees who act like this.

Unauthorized billing!
This morning I got an email telling me others were searching for me. I clicked on the email and it took me to the reunion.com website. I purchased a 3 month subscription to reunion.com. After seeing it was not me anyone was searching for I called 1-888-704-1900 and talked with EARL... Earl told me that he could not refund me the charges. He did see that I just got the account that morning. He also told me that the website tells you no refunds will be credited. Do NOT use this company they are a rip-off and take your money!
I have notified the Attorney Generals office of this scam and also the Better Business Bureau!
