Mr. Lapierre came to our shop for insurance repairs in August 2008 and had a $500 deductible owed for the completed repair. As Mr. Lapierre could only pick up after hours we bent our 'no cheque' policy and accepted his business cheque for $500. He thanked us for the excellent service and workmanship on his BMW and left. He had mentioned to one of our staff members that he needed the car back quickly as it was to be traded in soon. We got back the check in the mail with a stop payment on it and immediately tried to contact Matt to find out why. He never returned any of our calls or those of his insurance company who attempted to contact him on our behalf. He knew that since he had traded up to a new BMW we could not repossess his vehicle under a mechanic's lien and he has never made any attempt to settle his account. As we are not the first person or business he has ripped off we don't expect to hear from him.
