I was working for Rockland 2 summers ago. When interviewed, I was totally lied to about pay, the job itself, and all of its requirements. The employees are basically taught to lie to potential customers about the services Rockland offers. I worked there for maybe 2 weeks before I realized what a joke this place was, but I stuck with it, thinking once I got through training, it would be better. After about 3 weeks of working there, a 'road trip' to another major city was scheduled. I volunteered to go, thinking it would be a great experience. I was dumped off ALONE, while my 'manager' went off with the rep that was assigned the territory, with no idea what I was doing or where I was going. The area I was left in was dirty, poor and non-english speaking. I could not read one bill, and was actually being grabbed at by people on the street. When I inquired about this territory, I was told it was too big for the rep that was handling it and he needed help. Later, I googled in, and it was considered to be the worst area around that city. When I got back to Detroit, I was told by a co-worker I was accidentally hired, and that may have been a way to get rid of me. What kind of company puts employees (accidental ones or not) in danger in a different city?
