In December 2005I purchased some products at Sam Goody's in Champaign, IL for my daughter. We were offered and accepted "free" issues of Entertainment Weekly. Then in June 2008 the card I used at Sam Goody's was charged without my authorization for $39.95 this week for a continued subscription. When I called the number on my bank transaction, 800-854-4082, I was told the transaction would be cancelled. Now I'm told it will take up to 3 business days for the transaction. The account is one I seldom use, and it has caused me a bank charge for a purchase I did not make. Sam Goody's is in business trouble. Hmmm. I wonder why customers shun a rip-off organization like this.
