Bought DVD recorder online on 2/17/07. Because I was in the transition of moving and other circumstances, the product was in the box and never ever used until 9/07. When finally tried to use it the product did not work. Called customer service and was told I would have to try several trouble shooting methods. Was instructed to purchase a lens cleaner at my own expense for $24.99, although they were informed the product had never been used. Called back two weeks later, as obviously the len cleaner didn't work, and was told more trouble shooting ideas. Finally, the rep agreed that the product needed to be sent back for repair but would have to call back for info as system was down. Called back to get address and other info a few days later. Was told needed VIN # for that info when I was earlier told I wouldn't need any other product info but just to call in as they would have all the relevant info in the system. Called back today with VIN and was told Labor Warranty had expired and would cost me $65 for Labor plus shipping ($15) on top of the $25 I had already spent on a recommended, yet worthless, lens cleaner so a grand total of $105 when the DVD recorder had cost me $159.
