Rip Off

Sawnee EMC is the worst company I have ever dealt with!! They are a total rip off! Their rates are just unbelievable! When I first moved to this state they tried to charge me a $250 fee because I had not had any type of utility service in the state of Georgia. I have been with them for 4 years. I am in the process of moving and they are telling me I have to pay a $150 deposit because I was late on 1 payment back in 2009! Are you freaking kidding me! Customer service is rude and when you ask to speak to their boss they are even rude! I really wish someone would move into this area and give them a run for their money. I would switch companies in a heartbeat! I HATE SAWNEE EMC WITH A PASSION!!!

Unbielievable

I relocated to an area whereby Sawnee EMC is the only power provider. My credit rating is average and I have a history of paying bills, especially utilities, on-time. Georgia Power was willing to provide Sawnee EMC a letter of credit stating that. I was charged 150.00 ("bases on credit report from Equifax) connection fee... only to be payed back in 30 (yes, that's right 30 months)months! Wait, there's more. I went online to set up "paperless"billing (saving them, plus the environment:-)) and a message populated stating that "due to drastic increase of credit card payments, there will be a $3.50 fee for every transaction.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
