I've been reading on this website about the problem with Scion tC trunk handle panels breaking off, after mine did the day after Christmas while visiting friends in my hometown. It was a cold evening, and when I pressed on the handle latch the whole panel came off and was hanging from the back. It was too cold for me to tinker with it in the parking lot of a pub late in the evening, and I've since duct-taped the thing to the back of my car. I am going to call Scion and see about getting it fixed, since I do love my Scion and have owned mine for 4 years now, but don't feel like that should be considered normal wear and tear when other cars don't have shoddily made trunk handles falling off even after 10 years. Fingers crossed, I'll get some help, since I am very loyal to the brand and to getting repairs only at authorized dealers since purchasing my car. I am disappointed in the cheap quality of this particular part of my car.
