Recovering a lost steam authenticator can be stressful, but preparation makes it manageable. If you have exported your maFile and stored it safely, recovery takes minutes. Without a backup, you must remove the authenticator through Steam Support, which imposes a trade hold and delays. A little foresight saves a lot of trouble later.
