We're pissed and ripped off. Nov 2006 we purchased a Kenmore washer for <$425 ($500.99 w tax & delivery). It is in our vacation home WHICH IS USED ONLY A FEW TIMES A YEAR. It has been used less than 75 times and the timing switch broke. The Sears Repair Service in Tampa tried to sell us a warranty for $214.99 when we called for service. That is 50% of the cost of the machine. The machine was only 2 mos out of warranty. A timing switch should cost about $50 & it should take only 15-20 min to replace as we had a Kenmore for 32 yrs & my husband has replaced two of them. THE TOTAL BILL WAS $219 FROM THE TECHNICIAN. We laughed and thought he was joking. Nope. THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT SCAM. Sears no longer has reliable, dependable appliances. WE WILL NEVER BUY A SEARS APPLIANCE AGAIN!!!
