I purchased a new Kenmore washer in Dec. '06. Almost exactly 8 months later, it started smoking, making a grinding noise, and stopped working. Sears says they cannot get a repair person to me until Sept. 6 - over 3 weeks later. I may hire another repair person and present Sears with the bill in small claims court. They have breached the implied one year warranties that come with all new purchases. I'll never buy their appliances again.
