Left Cheated
To the person who says that these complaints do not pass the smell test, it may be because we paid huge sums and were indeed con. I had many conversations with my rep to make sure they could deliver they type of person I was looking for. I too followed with 2 past clients, and when one said sometimes you have to push a bit, he wasn't kidding. I was getting anything with a v**&*^ throw at me. The process doesn't work, a few get lucky. They make big promises, charge a lot, and too many are disappointed. I believe this to be all matchmakers. Save your money, and some stress.

client testimonial
Something about these over the top complaints regarding Selective Search does not pass the smell test. I was treated with dedication, attention and sensitivity during all phases of my time as a client. The staff was completely professional and responsive. I checked references before signing up and they checked out beautifully. I live in a small town and was unable on my own to find the quality of prospect I wanted to marry. Selective Search found her for me after a nine month effort and we are now happily married. The personal attacks on Barbie contained within these anonymous posts are particularly distasteful. I will never forget Barbie calling me in the evening from her home the week of her own wedding. She did this long after I was no longer a client and for no other reason than to check on me. Robin, who signed me up, has become a personal friend of both me and my wife. It would be hard to imagine more honorable people than those who run this wonderful company. Being falsely accused is a terrible injustice and the format of this complaint board allows anyone, even a competitor, to pretend to be a client in order to register a vicious, inaccurate complaint. I will volunteer to discuss this by telephone with anyone who would like to do so. Just contact Selective Search and ask for the telephone number of former client, Carl L from Texas. Selective Search folks are nice people who are really good at what they do. The truth has a power of its own that is obvious and undeniable when you hear it.

This is a COMPLIMENT
I'm gonna make this simple.
1. Selective Search DEFINITELY WORKS because I am now married to one of their clients, so I am living proof!
2. Selective Search has ALWAYS been very honest with their process and how it works, I know because I have been an affiliate and then became a scout for them!
3. Selective Search never makes guarantees to the men that you will find marriage, and for the lady affiliates, they never guarantee that you will ever be called for a date! That's why it's free for the ladies to join! READ THE CONTRACT people!!!
4. Selective Search "leads the horse to water, but can't make you drink." Don't blame Selective Search for your inability to find or keep a relationship going. What you may need is a psychologist...not a matchmaker!!!
5. Those that are name bashing on this website or any other public outlet...read the LEGAL DISCLAIMER on this website!!!
6. I won't name names, but I LOVE EVERYONE AT SELECTIVE SEARCH!!! :-)

scam / rip off!
Avoid this company at all costs!
If I can save you from making the same mistake that I did, I will be somewhat satisfied for the chaos that Barbie put me through.
I am a stand up guy. I've been called handsome, eligible and stable. A am picky and have a specific criteria. I took this criteria to Selective search.
Barbie took thousands of dollars from me (15k) with a smile on her face. She confidently told me that she had access to beautiful women. This is NOT true. What she has is a short list of call girls who are looking for a free ride. I went on dates that her very small (and ever changing staff) sent me on and within the first 5 minutes was propositioned!
This is a SCAM and they should be sued and put out of business. My friend joined another matchmaking company the same month that I did in California and met his wife! I should have gone with THAT firm but I was sold on Selective Selective and Barbie Adler because it is in Chicago where I live and I "thought" they worked for THE MAN- Wow was I wrong~
BIG MISTAKE! This is a JOKE!
