DELICATO MOVERS - TERRIBLE MOVING COMPANY - DO NOT USE THEM - YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!
This was my 12th move in my lifetime and I have never ever had such a horrible experience with “delicato” movers. When they first arrived, I did what Mr. Delicato told me to do, which was to inform the movers about any delicate/problem type of items. The men seemed to have paid attention, but the outcome proved that everything I told them went in one ear and out the other ear.
One man (let’s call him A) stayed in the truck the whole time putting my belongings into a complex puzzle in the truck. Another man (call him B) clearly was new and had no idea what to do. The third man (call him C) was great at wrapping and boxing my mirrors with lots of boxes and lots of tape. Man C had to tell man B everything to do; sometimes man B was sent out to the truck to get more tape or another box, but never came back into the house. Other times man B totally ignored Man C. All the while they were bad-mouthing the boss, things I did not need to hear.
To start with, the movers did not arrive until 1030AM! and finally left at approximately 11pm. I know I have a lot of stuff but never ever before did any other moving company slow down as the day went on. One would think they might speed up to make up for the late start.
I was amazed and amused at how unorganized they were. They took out some boxes and then some furniture, more boxes, more furniture until the house was empty. When we finally got to the new house, they brought in some boxes first then some furniture and on and on until they were telling me there was no room for the rest of the furniture! As if it were MY fault?!
All of the other movers I ever had now look like diamonds compared to these guys. All of the other movers were extremely organized and none took longer than 5-7 hours on the dot. All of the other movers moved out all of the boxes first, then all of the furniture. When we got to the new house all of the furniture was easily put in place and then the boxes came in and were placed in the particular rooms as marked. Simple, organized, sensible.
In addition, I have never had anything broken or damaged before “delicato.” They broke a very expensive and precious lamp due to lack of attention and incompetency.
They crushed a small file cabinet and my large file cabinet will not open and probably is bent where I can’t see into the closet. I told them NOT to stack the small file cabinets but they ignored me and stacked them anyway and one was crushed before I hurt my back moving them off of one another.
They did not hear me when I told them how to set up my platform bed. They had it set up backwards when I went into the bedroom to see what they were all doing in there.
They did not hear me when I told them how the daybed was supposed to be. I guess they had to take it apart but they put it back together with the inner spring upside down and did not lock the lower high-rise. I had to pay someone to come and help me re-assemble the bed, and also to move boxes around since they were piled up so high and in the wrong rooms.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TRUST OR CHOOSE THESE PEOPLE TO MOVE YOUR VALUABLE BELONGINGS AND URGE YOU TO LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR THE PROFESSIONALS YOU WANT AND NEED DURING THIS EXTREMELY STRESSFUL TIME.

Waste of time
I just got a customer who sent an email to her WARRANTY SERVICE AT NICOR!!! Guess who got the call? NO, GUESS!!! ... ME!!! I have to pay $15 for a lead that was generated by a customer emailing Nicor for warranty work!!! How in the world does ServiceMagic get that info?!! Because of this, I am no longer a ServiceMagic Customer. I saw a post, Google phishes for info. I didn't believe it. How would that be possible for SM to contact someone over a private email? The customer must have emailed him behind his back! Nope, its true.
Also, every other lead has been garbage.
Now, watch for the generic construction company to post below saying how this has never happened to them. Or for ServiceMagic attempt to explain why it cant happen:. How they caaaaant read private emails.. How I should try to reeeeeeeach them to sort this out:. How theyre soooooo concerrrrned". Hahaha! Peace out ServiceMagic! Your time is up! GOOD JOB, Pissed Off Customer of getting service-magic/.pissedconsumer'.com and thwarting ServiceMagics attempts to control the search engine results of their company?. Google Service Magic Reviews and voila! YOU GET THE TRUTH!

Misleading leads
Service Magic offers a lead service that contractors pay for. This month I paid service magic $300 for leads for work that I preform. Out of the $300.00 $182.00 were junk leads leads. Some of these lead you could not get a hold of the customers, 2 were real estate agents the just wanted bids for bargain tool tho promote the sale of a home. Several were for people that want repair work on project that needed replace. they would not refund or credit my account. These are not honest lead source and is a rip off. They do not educate the people on the sites in what kind of services they need. I want fix a job that needs to be replaced I will not rip someone, if they are suggesting a repair on an item that needed to be replace it is that can't afford it. So now I waste my time & money to tell these people not to waste their money because it will not hold up, so now I am the one who is being ripped off. They deduct money for your account as you receive lead so after they have my money they have the power. They are miss lead committing fraud & are harassing people.

Bad Service
Called a phone number for a contractor and was linked to Service Magic. After working with them to send people out so i can get quotes on a siding job, windows, deck, and many others. That same night my wife got a call from a person that couldn't speak English and was claiming he was from Service Magic, Or maybe Service Magic gave him our number to call us for a job. Well after about a minute or so my wife was feed up b/c she had no clue what Service Magic was and what this guy was trying to sell her. Since the ph# was unavailable on caller id. This gentleman just couldn't speak a word of English.. So that just set her off. After I explained to my wife what Service Magic is about. She got pissed that service magic gave our number to this type of company...How can we have work done, if we can't understand what they are selling? Just doesn't make any sense...It's like they gave our number to anybody.
Then we had a siding company come today and explain to me after he was 30 minutes late that the estimate he's giving me will cost $100.00. When I spoke to the contractor the day before they said it was free. And Service Magic was told I was looking for companies that provide free estimates.. So today was a waste having contractors from service magic spend 2 hours at my house and not give me a written estimate and wanted to charge me for it..
Also, I'm having problems with the contractors complaining to me when the show up and ask how many other contractors came out for bids on this job b/c i used Service Magic. I don't think they should even ask that type of question.
So after about 4 contractors that i spoke with that Service Magic provided. Only one of them has been professional and I would even consider giving the job. Since when I asked for his credentials he was more than willing to give me them and several references.. Others just got mad, and said look at their website on the work they do and about their company.
Hope this helps you all out!! And if you use this company you get better results.. I will say the girl from Service Magic is very helpful, goes above and beyond getting me the contractors, But I just don't feel that the contractors they are sending are top-notch and I think most of what they are sending is anybody who is willing to pay Service Magics fees..

Send dead leads
Its sad that a company who advertises them selves as the "Great white hope" for contractors and consumers. Continues to screw both with vigor. Ive been with them for a year. In that time I have had nothing but bad leads, expired leads (I had one person tell me that they had had the work done 6 months previous to me receiving the lead) 98% of the contacts do not return a phone call or e-mail. Those that I did make contact in their home were overwhelmed by the amount of contractors showing up to their home. I was told there would only be 3 contractors sent the lead. One contact had had 11 before me and had 9 coming the next day. All of us paid $50 for that lead. Every Time I have contact with them they try to make it right. BUT would not cancel the contract. Finally I quit paying for BS leads and now they are sending me to collections! Bad mistake. I will be posting this here, The story on my blog and on all 5 groups I'm associated with on Link In. I get 15000 hits to my web site a month. Lets see how they like that!

Contractors are a rip off
They sent out my number which I did not give them. Along came some contractors and supposedly did some work on a leak on my roof, but would show me NO proof. They wanted to charge me again to come out and take pictures for Directv to reimburse me. They would not take my calls. They are a complete rip off. Stay away from Springfield Roofing, total rip off. Showed up at my door without an appointment and proceeded to check my roof at my request. Took pics of the damage but not the repair as a "courtesy" and wanted to charge to see what I paid for. Rip off!!

Lied to me
Was a Service magic professional for 2 yrs. I had great reviews, and I even got them another contractor buddy of mine to sign up w them. Recently owed them some money, and I made sure i paid it back only to be told that they needed to do a background check. When they did the background check it revealed a bankruptcy from 2yrs ago...the same month I signed up. I was open and honest with the sales lady and told her I was going through it and she said it wouldn't be a problem. I was one of the highest rated contractors on there but because of something in my personal life I am not eligible until 2/12 to re join them. Service Magic doesn't do what they say, they only care about there money and keep contractors with bad reviews on their site and just kicked off a good one. So CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!!

Frustrated floor guy

Terrible Contractor Relations
CONTRACTORS BEWARE. I am a flooring contractor and had been with Service Magic for about three years. I paid over $5000 for about 210 leads total. I had many jobs from these leads, and every one of my customer reviews were outstanding. Never had anything close to a complaint. Except one customer, who had a very small issue with his kitchen floor. The customer and I could not reach an agreement on how to solve his problem, so he complained to Service Magic. The customer then demanded $2200 to fix a tiny part of his floor, which I refused to pay. Without warning, notice, and without asking me any questions whatsoever about the job, SM fined me $500 (per my contract with SM), cancelled my account, and even threatened to report my company to the BBB and the Colorado Attorney General office. I was treated like a criminal! I wrote the head of contractor relations a letter describing my horrible experience; he has not replied.
Bottom line, fellow contractors is that Service Magic is, kind of, your boss if you use their lead program. When a problem arises, they will NOT advocate for you, even though you are the one paying their bills. They will side with the customer every time, and throw you overboard like you were a common criminal. In short, they treated me exactly the opposite of how I treat my customers--with total disrespect. DO NOT USE SERVICE MAGIC!!!
