I purchased a Pug puppy from Shadowfax Kennels in December 2009 for the sum of $600.00 that was to be from Champion Sires & Dams. By August 2010, her leg broke due to the degeneration caused from Legg-Calve-Perthes (LCP) disease. The X-Rays showed that she suffered a fracture at the growth plate in her right leg. The only procedure that was available was a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) which would cause her to be somewhat lame and possible pain for the rest of her life. During the surgery, the surgeon noted how degenerated the leg bone was as he cut through it further leading them to believe that was what she was suffering from. It was only a matter of time before the leg bone broke. The surgery cost $1500.00. When I contacted Shadowfax Kennels to let them know what happened, I was told their warranty only covered a life threatening disease and she failed to believe that what I was saying was true. I provided my vets number which they failed to contact. Think twice before purchasing a pug from Shadowfax Kennels. They claim that they are not a puppy mill, but look them up on Youtube and see for yourself.
