Roundtop structure
The products are very poorly designed. We got the 28x8x12 round top.
During install the parts didn't fit together right (one pipe had to be redrilled it was so off. Another had to be thrown away and we had to wait for a replacement).
The door was always impossible to open, and then the zippers all broke within 2 months.
Finally it blew to pieces during a stormy day. No amount of bracing was going to hold it to together. Even with a variety of extra anchors cemented in all around it, with it sheltered by a shed and a fence, and a truck, and then surrounded inside and out with hay bales, it just picked up like a kite and ripped to peices.
Didn't make it even 8 months.
We left the back of the frame hanging uncovered for the last year and finally went to survey the damage today. The back cover is still hanging from that side and I was shocked to see the material. It was paper thin, faded, and cracked. If the shelter had stood up the storm, it would have been rendered useless by now just because the fabric degraded so badly. Very disappointing. I had expected it to fail fairly quickly, but I was thinking something like 5 years - not 8 months.

Poor design
Even when properly installed, product did not stand up to 49k ( 30m.p.h.) winds. Problem is with the metal cable/u-clamp fasteners used to mount the legs to a screw-type ground anchor.
The grade 8.8 (ISO 898/1) bolts are of inferior quality for this kind of application - even when torqued to specification.
This AutoShelter is located in an area reasonably sheltered from wind but the anchor system still failed at the cost of a paint job to a 2009 Toyota Matrix.
I am re-installing the unit with a throughbolt-type
system to overcome this serious design flaw and would suggest others do the same.

Bad service
In August of 07 I purchased and 10x10 ShelterLogic canopy through Northern Tool Co. I have used the canopy 9 times in the past year. The last time I used it I noted a corner strut had broken completely and one of the corner assemblies is badly cracked. Both Northern Tool and ShelterLogic have told me there is nothing they can/will do becuase the product has only a 1 year warranty. I have written to ShelterLogic asking that the frame be replaced as it is practically unusable and the damage has to be from defective construction or materials. I would certainly not purchase any product from ShelterLogic or Northern Tool again.
