Carhops
I'm sick of hearing complaints about carhops asking if the customer wants change. These people work for $3.50 an hour ever since SONIC decided they couldn't afford to pay servers. Someone said they won't tip for a carhop to walk 10 feet to deliver them food. Well, why don't you get off your fat ass and walk for it yourself, you lazy loser?!? I worked for Sonic when they still paid minimum wage, and we were always surprised to get tips. Now, these people depend on it, because SONIC CORP. if sofa king cheap!!! For any of you carhops that read this, I STRONGLY recommend that you start bringing your own bottles of "WATER" to work and carrying them on you. When you can tell that someone's not going to tip you, and I know that you can tell...Pour the "WATER" in their food. Just make sure you piss in the bottle first!!!

You fat, lazy idiots!!! Get out of your air conditioned car and WALK to get some food. I swear that EVERYONE in this country is too obese to be allowed to live!!!

I went to Sonic tonight and im visiting from iowa and I asked for two Cherry limeades and they said no cause i was with a group of locals that threw a rattle snake at the drive threw. I did not do that. so they said yes we will get ur limeades after this guy helped me get them and once he pulled away they just stood there and never made them insted the asst. manager sent someone to look at my uncles license plate im very ticked off about this.

poor service
It's obvious that Sonic has no concern about the quality of service provided at their stores. Their website only gives you a phone # to contact them which leads to nowhere. I thought their store in Hinton, TX [located in a travel plaza] was closed when I arrived in the mid afternoon. The place was filthy in front and behind the counter. Some of the employees were outside and some were in the, I'm assuming, office area. The 2 young girls that came out of the office area were rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to take my order.
I had questioned what condiments came on the burger and they couldn't tell me and would just put on what I wanted. At this point I asked to speak to a manager and I was informed they didn't have one there. I decided to leave. I've only eaten at Sonic once before and decided that this experience will send me hunting for a burger king or mcdonalds if I really crave a fast food burger.

sonic
I'm a manger at Sonic drivein and I think its bull crap how the other mangers get more hours than me and also when I do work I can't even work an eight hour shift... My general manger seems not to care as much. I would really like to have something done but the big boss and others are like her best friend so they would do anything for her and not the workers..

Tip Wage
(I'm terribly sorry if this is in the wrong cartegory, I tried to put it in the one that I thought would have some significance to the complaint) We have recently had a new program put into effect that if carhops do not make the tips to cover them to minimum wage, then they will be removed from carhopping. Now, at many Sonics that means no hours or completely fired. There are many carhops that make most of their tips, but are not completely making all of the tips to cover them, but all carhops at my particular Sonic claim ALL OF THEIR TIPS!!! Today, after 5 1/2 hours of work, I made $14, but I claimed 20. That did not cover me all of the way, but I did that so that I wouldn't lose my job or hours. I also found out that, at the South Parkway Sonic, skating carhops get to clock in as crew and make minimum wage (and from the people who have told me about that policy, our area manager, Homer, put that into effect), whereas I, who am a skating carhop, has to clock in on $3 an hour and worry about not making enough tips to cover me to minimum wage. I think that it is one thing if a carhoop is claiming only $5 dollars a shift, but those of us who regularly claim 15 to 30 dollars should not suffer from that.

Now, at Sonic, there is no way to tip over a credit card. I have lost MANY tips because people couldn't tip over the credit card. It would be beneficial to Boom Foods profits if people could tip over a credit card. Perhaps there could be a tip button on the switchboard and people could ring up a tip there, or it could be written onto the receipt, or done over the actual credit card machine at the stalls or done on the inside credit card machines. Then it could automatically claim the tips and the tips that the carhop makes in cash could be claimed whenever he or she clocks out, placing all of the tips made over a credit card onto the paycheck. If this were to be put into effect, this would fix part of the problem for the carhops and would save profits for Boom Foods.
