Pricing
I ordered a sweet tea with vanilla and strawberries and it came with ice almost to the lid (so not much drink at all). I went to get a refill and they said that they would have to charge for the vanilla and strawberries. I thought, no big deal, they are only about ten cents each on the menu. I get the refill and they tell me that they had to charge me for a whole new drink (about $1.50). Not terribly expensive, but, had I ordered just a sweet tea I could have gotten all the sweet tea that I wanted. Since I got a sweet tea with vanilla and strawberries I have to pay for a whole new drink every time (including paying for the tea every time). Sounds ridiculous to me. I may take by business somewhere else where they do not over charge you.

SERVICE
SONIC IS CLOSE TO MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT, BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. THE BURGERS ARE JUST THROWN TOGETHER, MOST OF THE VEGTABLES END UP IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG. THEY APPARENTLY DON'T CHANGE THE MENU BOARDS WHEN PRICES CHANGE, BECAUSE WE ALMOST ALWAYS ARE CHARGED MORE THAN THE MENU STATES. ONLY AT SONIC HAVE I GOTTEN A "BLT" WITH JUST BACON AND LETTUCE ON THE BREAD ... AND, WE'RE ALL DAMN TIRED OF BEING ASKED IF WE WANT OUR CHANGE WHEN OUR ORDERS ARE BROUGHT OUT TO US. I KNOW THAT IT IS MOSTLY KIDS THAT ARE EMPLOYED, BUT THEY NEED TO LEARN TO WORK FOR THEIR MONEY AND NOT BEG FOR TIPS.

Privilege Club cards
I HAD BOUGHT SEVEAL PRIVILEGE CLUB CARDS, WHICH SONIC IS ONE OF THE PLACES OF BUS THEY CAN B USED AT.SOMETIMES THEY HAVE BEEN HONORED, AND OTHER TIMES NOT.THE CARD SAYS BUY ONE BURGER, GET ONE FREE.IF I BUY A BURGER COMBO SOMETIMES THEY ALLOW ONE FREE AND MOST TIMES NOT WHY?? THE MANAGER SAYS THEY CANNOT HONOR IT BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT IF U JUST BUY A BURGER, THEN U CAN GET ONE FREE.I ASK WHY, AND THEY SAY BECAUSE THE COMBO IS ALREADY DISCOUNTED.IF U LOOK AT THE MENUE, THE BURGER BY ITSELF IS $2.69, SMALL FRIES $1.00, MED DRINK $1.00, MAKING THE TOTAL $4.69.IF U BUY A COMBO MEAL IT'S $4.89, GUYS WHERE IS THE DISCOUNT??I DON'T THINK SONIC OR ANY OTHER MERCHANT SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN SUCH PROGRAMS IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE TRUTHFUL WITH THE PUBLIC.ALTHOUGH MAY BE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SO CALLED MANAGERS THEY EMPLOY AT THEIR PLACES OF BUS.I REALIZE THAT I'M JUST ONE PERSON TAKING THE TIME TO EVEN BRING THIS TO LITE, BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE WE THE PUBLIC ARE GETTING SCREWED.

Policy
Today after a photography walk with my son, where I was looking for macro opportunities, I stopped at Sonic for some food before heading home to edit. After I ordered, I looked over and saw some nice smaller flowers. I grabbed the camera, and exited the car, and managed to take ONE photograph, before being asked to leave the premises for taking pictures. Of a flower. He (the owner) told me that it was private property, and no one was allowed to take photographs.

a better general understanding
what i've noticed about sonic (fast food company) is that the structure of the business has a possiblity of the manager/employees to underkeep their upkeep (cleanlyness mainly). depending where you go, you get different understandings of sonic and after tring different sonics. there are different quilty standards for how good a sonic location is. how i'm able to declare the is that depending on where you go, you get what i call tanted food or clean food. the tanted food (low maintains sonic) has the almost the same taste through out the food. when clean, it tastes good.

there are other things like employee service, that is something i consider the companies fault. the reason i say that is because the company is just a drive-in service. the problem is that the emplyees are expected to get a portion of their money through tips. however, when a company is a just a drive-in, it's some what antisapated that there isn't a tip system. simply because it's a fast food place and not a real resterant.

this kind of system leads to employees stealing change to make a respectable amount of money for the job, bad quility of food in places and bad reviews as a consumer and an employee.

so simply, sonic needs to change some things and we need to understand how sonic works.

service
Ok first of all i have been a fan of sonic for a long time and have overlooked their short comings 3 times so if u wanna down play my complaint u can suck on a sock :), 1st there was a piece of clear plastic in my drink, then it happened two more times at the location that i will discuss. After the first i vowed not to get anymore shakes, second no more shakes or cream slush, third no more shakes, cream slush, slush or mixed drinks period. Only fountain drinks. Then someone ahead of me paid for my meal (the electronic pay outside) in the drive through and i had to wait FOREVER for them to take care of it. Less than 3 days later I paid for someone elses. I only glanced at the amt before i paid, trusting the machine because i hadnt really had a problem (not thinking of the other day). Then i thought to myself that seemed a little much. I thought i would wait for my receipt then see if i paid the correct amount. Well after attempting to give me the wrong order, and waiting for her to get the right one she looked at my receipt and proceeded to give me my order without the receipt attached. I had to ask for my receipt. After reviewing it and seeing that it was diff than the amt i paid i stopped at a pull in station to let it be known that i noticed what had happened. I said it had happened twice, its ok right now but they need to fix the machine. The lady who i later found was the manager decided to argue with me and proclaim that it was my fault i paid the wrong balance and i should look to see if the amount is for my ticket, unfortunately for her her worker neglected to tell me the balance before i pulled through. She cut me off in the convo saying she would fix it then cut off the spkr. The woman that brought me the diff (also the lady at the window) which im sure was inaccurate but i really wasnt wanting the diff just to voice my concern, was also very short with me saying the manager is busy. I then called and the manager, whom i realized was the original voice i spoke with, basically gave me an uh huh ok im sorry were busy ill talk to her ok "click". This just happened so i will attempt to contact a district man. But i def will not be going back to ANY sonic. The customer service is horrible. It only takes one bad experience to ruin the whole name anyone should know that. Would it have been so hard to say "I am so sorry i will fix that for you", to which i would respond "no problem dont worry about it ya just might wanna fix the machine"?

SERVICES @ THE HASBROUCK HEIGHTS SONIC ON RT 17
I was mistreated at Sonic located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ- I felt that the security guard singled me out b/c I was ASIAN!!!

On June 28th, 2009, my husband and I decided to visit Sonic located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. We were so excited b/c we always wanted to try Sonic and get the service at the car spot. The wait to go into the Sonic parking took us about 50 minutes, there was a police officer there to assist with the traffic since it was off of one of the major Highway. As soon as we got into the line waiting for the parking spot, we were told by this big security guy named "Dave" that we had to use the drive thru. We explained to him calmly that we waited on the long line to experience the "sonic car spot" service. He tells us that he was told from the inside that people had to start using the drive thru, so we had to move to that line. He wouldn't give me a choice to wait on the line for the car spot, so we moved to the drive thru. The car right behind us got into the same argument but that guy to stay on the line!!! I got angry so I got out of my car and ask to speak to Manager to one of the girls that work there. As I waited for the manager to come out, I was literally shaking b/c of what had happen to me. I looked around, and there wasn't any Asian working there or even there for the service. The big security guard comes to me, all I said was I want to talk to you manager, and he had the nerve to get the police officer monitoring the traffic!!!

The office made us leave, so I yelled to the security guard "Dave" YOU ARE ONE RUDE PERSON! Then turned around. I saw that the manager was standing out side so when I started to go to him, the officer told me to leave again. The manager didn’t even ask me if anything was wrong but walk back inside. I didn’t even get to talk to the manager and when I got home to call the corporate office- all they did was take down the compliant and said someone will get back to me. It’s been three weeks already. I have not received any calls from either Sonic or the corporate office. I have been telling everyone I know not to visit any of the Sonic. I felt humiliated when they told me to leave. I felt that they were racist towards me because I was Asian and I was singled out to go through the drive thru without a choice to remain on the car spot line.
I would never ever go to Sonic- and I hope everyone in the world knows how rude and unprofessional they are.

Sonic Not-so-Special 5 for $5.95

Funny thing how advertising works for this company. Most days I pass through Sonic (which avgs 3 times a week) they have signs posted on

their marquee and around the drive-thru and the drive up window with their “5 for $5.95 Tuesday special”. Of course, today is Tuesday so I head

over to get their advertised special. Upon arrival, I look for the signage to confirm I’ve come on the correct day. Not a single sign in sight

anywhere on the premise.

With the employee coming over the intercom asking for my order I stated “ Is today the 5 for $5.95 special ??” the reply was “What would

you like on your burgers?”. Again I asked, “is this the day for the 5 for $5.95 special”. The reply this time was ”yes, would you like cheese

on your burgers?”. My reply followed as ”I’d like whatever comes on them with the $5.95 special”. Their reply was “you can get them any way you

want”. I replied “Ok, however them come. I’d also like .. (drinks and tots)”. They told me the total cost and said to pull to the window.

I paid the amount told to me $17.56 Took my food and headed home. Once home, I decided to look over the receipt to confirm the $5.95

special. The receipt reads as follows:
5 ALL CB $14.95 (burgers)
1 LG TT 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
5 5 FOR 5.95 -6.50
-----------
ST 16.41
TX 1.15
-----------
TOTAL 17.56

So.. Doing a little math $14.95 – 6.50 = $8.45 funny, that’s NOT $5.95

Next step… called the store asked for the manager. The gentleman on the phone says “speaking”… I asked “Is this the manager?” The reply

“Yes”. I aksed “what is your name?” His reply “Scotty”.
I proceeded to explain: “I just went through the drive-thru, and asked for the $5.95 special. The receipt says they charged $14.95 then

gave a credit of $6.50… that means they charged me $8.95 for my $5.95 special.” His reply “It’s extra for the cheese”. My response “I asked for

the $5.95 special, they asked if I wanted cheese, I said I’ll take whatever comes on them for the $5.95 special. I never did say I wanted

cheese”. His response “Well, we make the burgers individually to whatever you want”. I responded “ I told the order taker 3 times, whatever

comes on the $5.95 special”.

He finally said “I’m sorry for YOUR confusion. The cheese is 40 cents extra per burger. I can put your name in our book for a credit for

the cheese on your next visit. If you give me your name, I’ll credit you with a $2 coupon”. I accepted his offer at face value and gave my

name…. conversation ended.

But then after hanging up.. it hit me.. $8.45 - $2.00 = $6.45 Still NOT $5.95… I’m still screwed.

So, I call back the store. Scotty answers. I stated “I just called a minute ago about the $5.95 special issue… are you the location manager

or shift manager?” His reply “I’m the assistant manager” I then asked for the store location number (5756 Spout Springs Road) and the general

managers name (Mia Parks). Told him I’d be contacting the general manager, the district manager, corporate headquarters… and that I’d be

posting this anywhere & everywhere I can on the internet.

One other thing I’ve been pondering… is their special for slush drinks. Seems they have afternoon half price specials. I’ve noticed they

seem to charge a “surcharge” of 20 cents for the flavor on these drinks. If I get this right, with the price and surcharge, that comes to more

than half price.

Does anyone besides me see deceptive advertising and practices here ??? Any legal eagles want to file a class action suit to get their

attention ??

Maybe the greed for profits has skewed the focus of management, but considering a similar issue has occurred in my past with this company,

it seems to be a business plan in place to accomplish this deception.

Advertising, discounts and specials…. Used to bring in new customers, used to give a value to existing loyal customers, used to bring in

revenue and interest in otherwise slow time periods for the business. So much for good rapport with your customer base Sonic !!

So, if you’re tired of being taken advantage of… or if you’ve had the same discourteous schemes played out against you, feel free to write

me with your stories, and I’ll gladly post them on every board I come across that I can post on.
