Straight Talk Reviews

I'm out of MONEY buying 2 phones and didn't get to use the first minutes
Well, about 2 months ago I bought a Straight Talk cell phone! After' a few wks. the phone started going out. The internet wouldn't work. I had just bought $45.00 worth of unlimited minutes as I do every month.
I couldn't even talk on my phone . I had to come up with another 80.00 to buy a brand new one. Needless to say the other$45.oo was history. I can't afford to lose out on money like that, I have 3 kids
one being disabled!! So I actually need all the money I can keep!! I had spoken to this little old woman
about my problem and she said that Straight Talk Company are VERY good trustworthy people.
She said that they would reimburse my 50.00 that's with tax and all!!!
All I had to do is be upfront with them and be honest!
All I want is my minute money cuz last month I was out that 50.00. Someone PLEASE help me!!!
I have to have my phone cuz my daughter has spina bifida!! I pray someone is listening and feels compassion!!
PLease let me know ASAP!!!

Thank You,
Ms. Jacquelyn D. Garrison

HORRIBLE SERVICE - WON'T ACTIVATE PHONE
I spent appx $250 ordering a new phone and 3 months of service directly from StraightTalk and cannot get the phone to work. Three days and counting, all I've been told is that my PIN is no good (it's the PIN they sent with the phone), and then they said it's a network problem and they'll have it fixed in 24 hours. I waited 24 hours -- still nothing. I still haven't been assigned a phone number. I called back again and this time they hung up on me. As near as I can tell, when I call StraightTalk (I have to use a friend's phone to call them), I get put on with someone from India... Three days now, I've used up all my minutes on my old phone, and now I have nothing. StraightTalk is a piece of garbage. I'd be better off with two cans and a piece of string.

STRAIGHT TALK WONT LET ME ACTIVATE MY PHONE WITHOUT A AIRTIME CARD BUT I DON'T HAVE ONE. I BOUGHT A SERVICE CARD A THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ACTIVATED MY PHONE BUT WHEN I TRIED TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE THEY DID IT SAID "WERE SORRY BUT YOU MUST ACTIVATE YOUR PHONE FOR MORE SERVICE."

Piss Poor Customer Support
Oh my GOD these people are straight up IDIOTS. We called and spent over an hour to simply change our online password which by the way is not available at their website. We asked to speak to supervisors and was transferred back to the call queue instead of to a supervisor and low and behold I was charged for the minutes too! I filed a better business bureau complaint and I suggest anyone who has issues with them do the same. Perhaps they'll then hire Americans or at least someone who has English for a first language and perhaps will then give decent customer service. An hour off my phone to call customer service to not even get help? pfft.

took money off of debit card and lied about the activation of phone.
the company took money off my card, couldnt activate my phone and cost me alot of money and time. I STILL HAVENT GOT NO MONEY BACK FROM THEM THEY STOLD. WHEN I CONTACT THEM THEY ACT LIKE THEY CANT HEAR ME. THEY SPEAK LITTLE ENGLISH. TO MAKE IT WORSE I BOUGHT THE PHONE AT WALMART AND THE DONT EVEN MAKE A EFFORT TO CARE OR HANDLE BUSINESS CORRECTLY AFTER ALL THE MONEY I HAVE SPENT THERE.

Lies
STRAIGHT TALK, YOU LIED TO ME!!!

I did go buy min for my phone {for the month of June} days in advance because I have learned to trust no one! But I also had it in mind that this was more than likely going to be the last time I buy min for my phone. I did not want to lose my phone number {before I could find another phone co} so I added min to my phone on the 28th {which was not due until the 29th} to make sure that I wasnt going to have issues. LOL, notice the 29th was my load date, it took you 3-4 days to get my phone working.

I have been VERY easy going and understanding wanting NOTHING but ONLY WHAT I PAID FOR. Their automated message said they record calls for quality assurances, so I told them to go back and listen to EVERY CALL I MADE TO STRAIGHT TALK.

Customer Service
Straight Talk is an absolute failure. The company's website has always failed to deliver the needed information I requested. I can never contact customer support. The customer support people are general English as a second language type of employees and it is very hard to communicate.
This service was too good to be true. As my father always said, if it is too good to be true, it is. Well, this is the second time my Straight Talk phone has not had service after I have added my service card. I wish my wife and I had stuck with our AT&T cellular plans. I have been on hold for over an hour and my wife has been on hold well over two hours on our other land line. This is a good example of where a company is not scalable and has failed to support their customers. I hate to see such a promising endeavor fail. I have been wronged, as a customer, by not being able to talk with customer service for hours.

Horrible Customer Service
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I bought a phone Monday morning online to be sent out next day air. It went out on Wednesday, so I received it on Thursday. It is now the following Monday - one week from when I started this fiasco and I still do not have an active phone.

I now hate these people!!!

They just do not answer the support line. For hours and hours on end, you just wait listening to this stupid jingle loop. I have a speaker phone. I let it go for over 4 hours one day. And it just keeps telling me how important my call is and please wait for service.

When I finally got through, the operator (whose native language is NOT English) told me to just keep trying *22890 which programs your phone. If my phone dos not work within 24 hours to please call them back. I tried probably 10 times or more over the next 24 hours.

They are not open after 11PM EST, which is also a pain in the rear.

I HATE THIS COMPANY!!!

Outrageous
I have Straight Talk because it is cheap and half what I paid per month with my Blackberry for an unlimited plan.
HOWEVER...after today I am so disgusted with this company...
I called and waited 49 minutes, called back waited 23 minutes, waited for 5 minutes and was mysteriously disconnected, waited 32 minutes, waited 10 and was disconnected...AT LEAST TWO HOURS ON THE PHONE...
when I FINALLY reached someone I was very polite and reasonable explaining what happened. She did not acknowledge anything I said and was rude in asking if I wanted service or not. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she said fine, go ahead and wait on the line again, and hung up on me. the next person I spoke with took my credit card information and hung up on me as well, without reactivating my phone or getting me a phone number of someone I could speak with about this complaint. As I type this I am waiting on hold, at 14 minutes and counting, because my phone is still not on. While this happens, anyone that tries to call me right now is denied and I look like I can't pay my bill, when I am actually ready and willing to, but cant get through to the representatives. So disappointed in this service.

Customer Service
I made two web purchases of phones and service from Straight Talk. I received an email confirmation for the first phone purchase, but not for the second. So, I called Straight Talk (at 11:00am on 5-19-10), and reach a "customer service representative" (Mina) who, after I asked her a question, proceeds to hang-up on me. A few minutes later, I called back and went directly into hold. I waited for a while, and then decided to see how long it would take Straight Talk to answer my call. I waited for 46 minutes and 10 seconds before I had to hang-up and run some errands in town. Called back at 12:30pm, and I've been waiting now for 1 hour and 20 minutes...and I'm STILL waiting. Normally, I would not wait on hold for this long, but there is no other way to contact Straight Talk- aside from snail mail- and I need to check on just what charges they have or have not processed. Their hold message keeps telling me over and over how important my call is to them, but after holding now for over two hours between the two calls, I am certain that my call cannot be that "important" to them.
Needless to say, Customer Service is not a strong concern for this company. They appear to be like so many other American corporations- cut corners so that we can provide only a nominal "service" and then place what profit they can muster into the accounts of their management team. Disgraceful.
If you're looking for cellphone service with no contract entanglements, do yourself a big favor and look elsewhere.
