SunRay Contracting LLC is an Austin, Texas general contractor specializing in restaurant construction, commercial interiors, and custom fabrication. The company was founded eight years ago by Peter Verloop, who brings more than 25 years of commercial construction experience and a deep background in restaurant development and hospitality projects.
SunRay builds restaurants, hospitality environments, office interiors, and other commercial spaces throughout the Austin area. Restaurant work includes ground-up builds, remodels, conversions, and hospitality spaces designed for performance, flow, and guest experience. On the commercial side, the team handles office tenant finish-outs, retail build-outs, and interior renovations.
What distinguishes SunRay Contracting is its in-house millwork and steel fabrication capability. Most general contractors outsource nearly every custom detail; SunRay brings that work in-house, giving clients better control over quality, coordination, and execution. The shop produces custom millwork for SunRay projects and subcontract work, along with steel fabrication for architectural and functional features, which keeps schedules tighter and allows custom elements that elevate restaurant and commercial interiors.
Every project follows a structured four-stage process. Pre-construction aligns scope, budget, schedule, and construction strategy before work begins. Construction is managed with hands-on oversight and clear communication. Fabrication of custom millwork and steel elements happens in-house. Completion delivers a finished space ready for business.
The company follows safety-compliant procedures on every job site, uses industry-approved methods that meet code and performance standards, and works with modern tools and equipment for accuracy and precise detail work.
SunRay Contracting remains an intentionally small and hands-on company, which allows close involvement in every project from planning through completion. Its values are excellence, integrity, executing with confidence, supporting each other, taking ownership, and growth. SunRay partners with owners, developers, and businesses across Austin to deliver spaces that are well built, functional, and ready to perform.
