Attacked by a guest dog
Some Super 8 Motels allow pets but although I myself am a pet owner I wonder if I am the only person who thinks this policy is not a good one, the following is what happened.
I have not been financially able to take my family on any type of vacation in over 13 years so when me and my wife saved enough we decided to take our family to Colorado. We chose Super 8 because we have stayed with them before but this time it became a nightmare.
The second day of our trip in the late afternoon we had come back from visiting some sights in Colorado Springs, when walking out of our room to get some ice the people in the room directly across from us opened their door at the same time and I was immediately attacked by their dog who stood about the height of my waist (this was a LARGE dog and they had three of them all the same size) had I not been carrying the ice bucket the dog would have been able to bite my arm has he kept trying to bite at me, the owners were screaming at him but never did they try to subdue the dog, finally the dog took off down the corridor and pushed open the glass door to the outside and took off, the owners of course apologized but when I made a complaint to the front desk they asked if I WANTED ANOTHER ROOM, I said no why should I be the one to change rooms, she then said she would ask the others to move,
MY QUESTION IS THIS, Do not Super 8's have a size policy on the size of ones pet and if one of a customers pets attack one of their guests why then are the pets allowed to stay and if the guest with the pet cannot find a place for their pet that attacked then why shouldn't they be asked to leave, after all their pet now shows the ability to attack a human?
I have since then tried to get some sort of an apology but the only thing I seem to have gotten is a letter from Wyndham that they have contacted the Motel 8 (IN QUESTION), and have asked them to take care of this immediately, well immediately must be never because I have yet heard from any one and I have as to date made 4 complaints but I guess its not important enough for them to do anything about.
I am certainly glad that my daughter who has Down Syndrome wasn't the one that walked out of the door that day as she would not have been able to fight off the dog and she would most certainly be in a hospital still or worse, dead.
I am sorry but if a motel is going to accept pets their policy should include one that protects all their guests because animals are animals and they are going to act and react that way, we all love are pets but it should NEVER be at the health of someone else.
I have decided to never stay in another Wyndham motel until they work out a policy that includes a policy on the size of ones pet and one that includes that if a pet has attacked another guest then the owners of that pet need to find other lodging for the animal or if not then they themselves should be asked to leave.
Am I wrong?

Bad customer service and dirty rooms
The stay at this hotel was a nightmare. The customer svc is terrible. Here's why:
Food on the floor next to the beds.
Food in the beds under the sheets.
Wake up call at 6AM that was not asked for.
The bathroom door swung both ways and would not close. You could see in bathroom.
The a/c only worked on high. The buttons were broken off.
The card key had to keep being recharged. Made multiple trips to the front desk.
After all of this, I was informed I would be given 50% off of next stay if I would return. I was informed the info will be put in the computer under my name. I decided to do so but when I did come back the next month the mgr stated since he did not offer that to me, he is not going to give it to me. I will never go back.

cleanliness
Don't think the bathroom had been cleaned after the previous guest. 1 towel, none of the little bottles of stuff except for 1 ( that tells me no one replaced anything) The toilet was filthy and had dried crap on the lid. The door dead bolt didn't even fit the striker, so you know this was not a new problem. Someone down the hall was trying to make their dead bolt work, also.
Have always stayed at Super 8 so didn't think it was necessary to check the room before renting. Not sure we will stay with them again, especially in Pendleton.

look of room
when we entered the room, the door was jamed and kept getting jammed each and every time it got used. tryed to turn on the light, would not come on unless you shook it. the bed sheets had very bad and dark stains on them and cigeritte burns too. toilet in bathroom ran allnight along with most of the guests there. after a sleepless night, we wanted to get a shower, but the tub/shower had no KNOB, there was no way to turn it on. spoke with the manager, but he only refunded one night, when i purchased two nights. spoke with him later so he can go check out the room, but still gave me no credit toward the night we stayed with no working shower. please someone contact me i have pictures of all of this.
Thanks,

Scam charges
I stayed at the motel at the 5-6 of September 2008, but they only charged my credit card at January 2009. The order was made at their website, and when I arrived they signed me on a registration form stating that the room rates are 59$ + taxes for the 5th of september, and 89$ + taxes for the 6th, with a total estimated amount of 170.24$.
When they finally charged my credit card (as stated above) the amount was 215.44$, and when I asked for clarifications they sent me the form I signed and a detailed "folio" where the room rate for the 6th of september was 129$ instead of 89$.
I should mention that when I left the motel and asked if I need to sign anything, they told me that every thing is according to what we agreed, and never mentioned that they decided to overcharge me for the second night.
Because of the fact that at the registration form the word "estimated" was mentioned, my credit card company doesn't agree to give me back the difference between the stated room rate and the final one.

Refused to Cancel Reservation
I contacted the motel to cancel the reservation on 12/21/2008.
They charged my Credit Card in spite of me canceling.
I have made several attempts to resolve this situation.
All I have got was an indignant attitude.

Stolen property
I was with a friend of mine staying in room 317 on Friday night. When I left, I accidentally left my bad in the room. It wasn't a few hours after check out (Saturday afternoon) that I called the hotel. I know for a fact that the bad was left in the room but the Motel people would not help me. They kept throwing excuses at me saying that certain people aren't in the office and I was asked if they could call me back the next day when the right people were in. They took my name and number. The next day I called them back and was given the same run-around. Wrong people are in the office and asked if they could call me back. This went on for several day. On Monday I called the 3rd time and asked to speak to a manager. I was told once again that the wrong person wasn't in the office and I was asked if they could call me back tomorrow. I now know for a fact that the cleaning people cleaned the room and stole the bag without reporting it and the management/staff is covering up for it. I called a lawyer and am taking them to small claims court. DON'T EVER STAY AT ANY SUPER 8 MOTELS. STAY AWAY FROM SUPER 8 UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR STUFF STOLEN.

Turned away
Super 8 motel at 201 hess dr monette, mo
I asked the rates and the lady said where are you from. I said i'm from wheaton missouri [which is a 20 minute drive away and is long distance] she said i'm sorry our policy won't let us rent to a local. [now i have had a hard day and i am tired] i said wheaton is not local besides i live in hartford iowa. She repeated her earlier statement. I said look here is my drivers license it is from iowa. I am down here working on some property that was damaged by water. Again she repeated her statement. I again said look i am not a local [she cut me off and said she didn't want a confrontation with me] i just shook my head and left.
I would like this person reprimanded and i would like some compensation for the embarrassment i received and for having to look for another place to rest. This happened 06/02/07
Please email me your reply.

The man scares me!
I had made reservations online for June 28th, 2006.This was the first day of our vacation-we were on our way to a family reunion that had been 2 years in the making. We checked in and went to our room.It was approx. 8:30. We were not impressed with the room but the rate was good. They had a worn recliner in there that was a bit wobbly so I sat in very carefully to make sure it worked. It seemed to be o.k. I then got up for some reason and when I went back to sit on it ,it totally open up on me and we went backwards. I hit quite hard jarring my neck and back. I have a metal plate in my neck from a herniated disc so I am always very careful.I was sore when I got up but I was more angry. To put a broken recliner in a room where some one could get seriously hurt is just asking for a lawsuit to happen!! I went down to complain. I'm sorry to say I took it out at first on the employee but later apoligised. He dialed the owner and put me on the phone.I told him what had happened in his "shit ass" recliner and said if I end up with neck or back problems I would sue.The owner was very nice,he was sorry and that the chair had been broken by previous renters.I said that he should have removed it before someone else rented the room.He agreed and said he would move us to another room and upon my asking, refunded the cost for the night.I then handed the phone to the employee and told him to keep record of what happened this evening incase the soreness I was feeling ended up to be more.
When I returned to the room I told my husband what we had discussed and he told me I should have gotten something in writing since they could get rid of the chair and get convenient amnesia.I did not want to go back down there so I told him to go.When he walked to the desk the employee was again talking to the owner and he said "that lady's husband wants to talk to you".My husband got on the phone and -nicely- asked if we could get something in writing. The owner went beserk! Something was said about us coming to his f---ing town and to his f---ing motel.to get the f--- out of his hotel and last but not least he was on his way there and him and my husband were going to "dance".My husband threw the phone to the employee and said he was calling the police.
Which my husband did when he returned to the room. And because this was all over my falling, the fire dept. came along with an ambulance and then an officer.I was so embarrassed that they all had to come when I was just sore from the fall.I had to explain everything to each person that came and that I really did not see that I needed their help at this moment.I was hoping that it would be gone by morning plus we were on our way to a family reunion.I also had a pet along. The owner came into the room while I was explaining and after a while identified himself.I asked why he thought it was necessary to "dance" with my husband and he of course denied everything. He said my husband was the one using foul language. My husband never even had a chance to say anything to the man and the only foul language was used by me in my discription of his recliner. My husband and the owner stepped in the hallway with the officer and the man just kept on lying about the whole incident. So finally since nothing was getting resolved we packed our bags and left.
Now, one would think that it would end there but it doesn't.The owner followed us from the hotel and when we stopped at another motel he sat there in his car watching us.We decided not to stay there and left but making sure we got behind him.We followed him a bit til he turned off on some road and then went in the opposite direction. We finally found a room about 10 pm.I could hardly sleep because I thought the owner would find us and only God knows what!
I was very happy to be on our way the next day and out of that town.
I have called in to Super 8 and complained. They said they would contact me with in 7 days.It is now July 18th and I have not heard from them.I also emailed the owner and ceo of the company that owns Super 8 and have not heard back. But it was through thier investor email since it's impossible to reach him directly. But it went through Cendant Co. and his attn.
I have had an X-ray and right now I believe just inflamation is the problem.I feel that the owner of the Super 8 should pay for any medical expense's that should incur.BUT....The man scares me! We are only about 2.5 hours away and he has all our information.I would prefer not dealing with him but go through Super 8 headquarters.I really need help with this situation but not sure where to go with it.?????????
