We told Ruth from Susquehanna chef that we were looking at one particular date to get married, and that was the date we WANTED to get married. We met with her to look at the recception site and go over prices, and she told us that she had that date open, with no mention of any other bride looking at it. She said it was open and to let her know when we want to book. For 2.5 weeks I had been trying to get ahold of her to get the price she told us she would figure up, but it turns out she was on vacation with her family. Never told us she was going to be out of town or anything. We waited, money in hand for a $500 deposit, and when she finally returns an email, she gives a price and tells me to let her know when we decide to book. I emailed her back immediately and asked if both my fiancee and i had to be present and the email i got back in return stated that she gave the date to another bride who was looking at it before me and was a putting a deposit down the next day. Is this fair since she NEVER even told me i had competition? And then went missing for almost 3 weeks so I had nothng I could do about it? Oh, and I have every songle email saying that she had that day open so technically we entered into a verbal contract, and a written contract saying that day was open with no mention of anyone else being interesdted. What can I do?
