I hired Tech-Star to reroof my house, consisting of removal of the old roof, and installing the new. Tech-star hires subcontractors to do their work. After the job was complete, I found numerous areas of poor workmanship as follows; Shingles were not lying flat adjacent to dormers due to improper trimming of shingles. Crumpled flashing around roof plumbing vent. Numerous rips and tears in the new shingles. On one area of the roof, the shingles were not applied parallel to the ridgeline, giving a sloping appearance. Gutters were not protected from ladders, resulting in much damage to the gutters. Numerous chips in the cedar siding resulting from not putting up proper protection during the removing the old roof. SA bulge along one side of the valleys, resulting from overlapping the shingles rather than trimming at the valleys. Smashed water diverter at an inside corner of the gutter. I was very disappointed with the type of work done by them and asked the owner to inspect but the owner of the company could not be bothered to come out and inspect the quality for himself. The subcontractor, Empire Construction, offered nothing but excuses saying the damage was unavoidable. I would not recommend Tech-star to anyone because of poor quality workmanship, and poor attitude. I have spent a good amount but have fetched no satisfaction of the work and its quality.
