I got engaged and was moving to another city so naturally I thought hiring a wedding planner would be a great idea! I figured if I wasn't in the city I was getting married in, having someone look after the details that everything would go smoothly. Boy was I wrong! I hired someone who has experience in the flower industry and was starting up her own wedding planning business. Within months, I realized this was the biggest mistake of my life. Everything she told me she had experience with and the contacts she had within the industry was a lie. She pressured us to set a budget for flowers and that should be something much later in the process of planning a wedding. She wanted us to add more money (so that she could make more). I also ordered a dress from her. It was suppose to be customized as I was measured and all. When I received it, it was two sizes too big and she didn't cover the alteration fees! And she had the nerve to tell me that she actually tried on my wedding gown when she received it!!! Who does that? Anyways, if you really want to hire a wedding planner, hire one with experience because if you don't, you end up doing everything and paying someone for doing nothing.
