Terrible company
I went in for a garage door install quoat. I was quoated one price, when I went to the service desk, was told it was 40.00 dollars more (was quoated last week's prices) The I was told after I complained I would have a 40.00 credit to use towards future purchases. I went to purchase an item today and they told me the credit was only good if I bought the garage door install. New story every day!!!

Home Depot Store # 4712
So I decided to give Home Depot another opportunity after the assistant manager Les reached out and promised I would have this fridge on Friday, 3rd July. I canceled the order from Sears that was scheduled for delivery on Sunday 5th July ( due to being promised that Home Depot would rectify the situation). Tuesday30th June Reggie in appliances told me to not refuse the fridge under any circumstances (the order was still wrong with the door hinge on the wrong side) and Asst Mgr. Les contacted me Wednesday, 1st July and assured me he, would follow-up with me on Thursday to make sure that GE confirmed my delivery window and on Friday to make sure the delivery went ok and to set up someone to correct my door. I never received confirmation from GE on Thursday 2nd July, so contacted them to find out that "Steve" from store #4712 ended up canceling the order with Dolly from LG in the morning and Dolly contacted GE to cancel the delivery. Les assured me on Wednesday not to refuse the fridge, regardless of the order being wrong for the door swing and he would follow-up the next day to make sure GE contacted me with a confirmation (which he never did - he was off on Thursday) and still has not contacted me to make sure the fridge was delivered with no conflicts.

Steve said the Reggie left him a note to cancel the order immediately and then said that is how the store is, "too many hands on the pot and not uncommon."
I can understand you have an internal problem with having to use third party vendors, however this was a total error on Home Depot's part and no one seems to follow-up. I never received an apology, acknowledgment or provided a solution to rectify the problem. Now two weeks later without a fridge. Should never have canceled my SEARS order, since Home Depot can't DELIVER!!

Discrimination
My 69 years old father went out and got a new lawn mower from Home Depot and it was defective. The purchase was within 24 hrs. I called the particular store up and explained the problem, stating that it stopped working while using it and it has oil and gas but could find the problem or the solution. Also, informed the clerk that item was purchased from that location and is within 24hrs. The clerk, Stan, stated that its was okay to bring it back and he will exchange it for us. I sent my father back to the store hoping that its a seamless exchange. Since I had phone in the problem ahead, I didn't find it necessary for me to accompany my father because English is a second language. Once he was there another clerk offered to help since Stan wasn't available and determined that lawn mower was broken. The clerk accused my father of broken the lawn mower because he did not put oil in the lawn mower. My father may have problem speaking good English but he can read and write. He was embarrassed of the accusation that he allow the clerk charged maintenance services fee of $35 and not have use of the lawn mower for a couple of weeks. I was outraged. This is my father third lawn mower in his 30 years plus in the U.S.A. When I called back to Home Depot and asked to speak to the store manager, Stan gave me the run around. Finally, he transfer me to Paul, whom I thought was a store manager, and he agreed to credit the $35 if we come in the store again. During these time Paul had mislead us with his title until I asked for his business card and his boss name and contact information. Then he stated that his boss is out of store location and she was taking an hour plus lunch.

Awful company
I had a second Husky ratchet go bad on me after paying out of pocket once already and being denied the lifetime guarantee. I figured what the heck and I splurged on another $30 ratchet thinking what would be the odds of another one going bad. I don't misuse or abuse it in any way.

Well, now it happened and Home Depot is claiming the same thing that if over 90 days I need to go to Husky directly. So I go to Husky website and they say to return any of their products just go straight into Home Depot. I honestly don't have a lot of energy to spend fighting this but it is a little tiring how these corporations always have a way of sticking it to the little guy.

At least now I feel a little better after venting this to anyone who might be reading this and possibly had similar experience. It sure would be nice if people/ entities could sell honest product and honest business. This really is wrong and I wish that someone who liked to battle these types of fraudulent claims would somehow get them to change their policies to match their claims. I am sure it is happening all across America because that is how I got turned onto this website. Good day to all.

Bad customer service
I went to the Home Depot in Joliet, IL just off of RT 30 and I-55 today (wanted to check out different fireplaces). Anyway, i am walkinga round and looking at other things on the way to the fireplace and pass up two Home Depot employees talking about a putz(customer) that one of them had helped earlier that day. Then when I tried to pay for some light bulbs the person at the cash register stopped ringing me up (she scanned the item, took my money, and started helping another employee standing next to her with a problem with her cash register)when it would have taken all of three seconds to get my change and then go to help the other employee.

Washer never delivered
I ordered a washer on line with Home Depot on 5/24/08. Its a Maytag Bravos Energy Star 4.6 cubic Ft washer.
I charged it on the home depot card. Since it was sales tax free week-end and the washer was on also sale, it was a good deal. Regular price $949 on sale for $854.10. + $59 delivery + no tax.
I chose the delivery date during the order which was to be on 5/30/08.
The day before delivery depot called and rescheduled delivery for two weeks later.
Two weeks later depot called that morning to give me the delivery time, thats when they said they were delivering a refrigerator---(I purchased a washer)
Customer Service then told me that it would be another three weeks because the washer was out of stock. She began telling me that I should check our local Home Depot. I told her that I ordered on line, I preferred not going to a store. She called the store herself then called me back leaving a voice message saying that the store only had one floor model which is beat-up, but I can keep checking back with them. And thats it!!!
Today is July 23, 2008 and I still do not have my new washer. My husband has also tried to get the washer but all we have gotten is the run around and yesterday we just recieved a refund of the charge for the refrigerator that we did not order and did not authorize charge for.

Bad service
I bought a new dryer with a moisture sensor because it was recommended to save energy and money. It was delivered April 1, 2008 and has not worked properly since delivery. The dryer shuts off automatically but the clothes are not dry. I have been in constant communication with Home Depot, A&E Appliance Repair, Cornerstone Appliance Service, and Voyles Appliance Repair, and Maytag. They all keep telling me I don't know how to use a dryer and just because the dryer doesn't work the way I want it to doesn't mean the dryer does not work. The whole point of buying the dryer with the moisture sensor was so the dryer would not keep drying dry clothes. It is supposed to shut off when the clothes are dry. What is does is shuts off and the clothes are still wet. I keep being told its my fault.

They've repackaged/resold a drill kit without a drill
Home Depot regularly reseals used and returned merchandise without inspecting the contents of the packaging. Then they sell it again as if it were new.

I just got scammed by Home Depot when I bought a repackaged SKil cordless drill kit drill kit that was missing the drill. When I brought it back with the receipt, they laughed at me and said they wouldn't do anything about it.

There were at least 10 other people in line complaining about the same scams. There is no chance I will ever walk into another Home Depot. If you don't have another shopping choice like Lowes your area, Be Sure to Open and Check All your packages in the store before you leave.

Repackaging used merchandise and selling it as new with missing or broken components is a regular practice at all Home Depots.
