HKSD provides comprehensive and professional services for hearing impaired persons, including education, employment, recreation, counselling, sign language interpretation and training, speech therapy, audiological and medical service. HKSD also provides scholarship and special equipment for the hearing impaired for improving their educational standards, as well as to provide guidance for parent of hearing impaired children. Furthermore, HKSD communicates with the public through public education and setting up the social enterprise – the Deaf Cafeteria, in order to understand the difficulties and needs of the hearing impaired persons, and to promote the social inclusion of the hearing impaired.
