Today my family and I patroned the Ripe Tomato Restaurant in Malta, NY for a buffet. We were charged $44.90 for two adult buffets and one junior buffet. The waitress staff appeared to be understaffed as we had poor table service. My 4 year old child did not finish her turkey and rice and 2 chocolate chip cookies. I asked the waitress for a box to bring home my child's remaining food (a meal and dessert that my child picked out and wanted but just wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home). The owner/manager of the Ripe Tomato Restaurant came to our table to reiterate what the waitress said. My husband carried my daughter to the car. I paid the bill. Upon leaving I told the owner that I thought it would be nice if my daughter could take home the rest of her meal. He then began to falsely accuse me of stashing food in my handbag. (of course, I did not do this!) I was enraged that he would falsely accuse me a few times in front of other customers. After denying this a few times, I loudly asked him to look into my purse to see if there was anything there. Then he started to accuse my husband. Now my husband carried my daughter out to the car. He certainly did not take any food. I told the owner/manager that I had been a regular paying customer and that he just lost a regular customer. He stated that he wouldn't expect anything less. His behavior was rude and unprofessional. No paying customer should be treated so poorly! Needless to say I did not leave a tip!!
