I bought a house in Dec. of 2005 and assumed the existing propane gas service that the previous owner had. I pay on time and they deliver on time. I just want to terminate their delivery service. I have a 500 gallon underground tank. They want $1750 from me to buy the tank. I have no problem with that. Next they say i'm contracted (their policy) to buy gas from them for three years, then I have to get a $1,000,000 liability policy with them as beneficiary and get the tank pressure tested(the tank is 6 years old. No other company does this. These requirements are absurd. The purpose as I can see, is just to make it impossible for you to leave them. Great way to keep customers! Next I have found numerous customers of theirs with similar complaints. They gave up and just continue using them. So I guess blackmail works. Next step is assistance from a state regulatory body or a lawyer.
