False advertising
TOYSRUS.com is STILL the worst website I purchase from -- especially dealing with their customer service. The latest experience involves their REWARDS program. I recently went online to make a large purchase but was shocked when I saw the astronomical shipping fees. I then drove over to the local store where I was told they were out of stock of the product I wanted and would be for at 6 more months. When I mentioned the product being availble with high shipping costs online, the sales rep handed me a brochure wncouraging reward membership that included a free one time online shipping code. After 20 minutes of them taking my person info -- including a drivers license, another 10 minutes of online registration, two days later, I never got the code. I called customer service and was assured I would get it the next day. When I called the next day, a rep told me that the offer expired in 2008 (3 months ago) and that even though there were no dates on the brochure, there was nothing they could do - even though I was going to make a $500 order. When I complained further, she got nasty with me and basically told me too bad. So toysrus.com, know that despite my 4 young children, I will never shop with you again. I will choose Target, Walmart & any other retailer that values their customers and for making good on your advertising. P.S. - most retailers now price match for advertised prices.
