I graduated 2/1/09. 8 months later, I check my credit report to find a collection from Kaplan for 1015.14. After calling them on that, I see another posting to student accounts for $120 owed. After calling them, they stated that the money they sent me before graduating was to go towards my tuition. Not only that, but they returned money that I was granted back to the government from my Pell Grant. I am paying back student loans and do not have money to pay Kaplan for mistakes or mishandling of money. This is crazy, however, I filed a complaint with BBB to follow up and plan on getting an attorney after reading the other posts. They will not get by with this. It's sad to say that I have received a messy degree.
