In 1997 I apparently took an online survey. Part of the survey was an offer for Entertainment Weekly for $2.00. I have continued to get the magazine until today. I noticed a charge, posted a few days ago, on my credit card for $60.00. The name on the charge was TWX*2H4H0P* EW Mag. In 1998 I was charged $49.00 for the same name. Not knowing what that meant I did a search and found a lot of complaints saying TWX was a rip off. I found their number in one of the complaints. It is 800-586-2710. I called to find out what I was paying $60.00 for. The service was very nice and told me exactly what I was paying for and how it was originally ordered. Needless to say I asked for it to be cancelled and to get my $60.00 refunded. She tried to get me to keep the magazine coming for $5 or so. I said no.Then I said no to some other offers and finally she said she had cancelled the magazine and I would get my refund posted in about 72 hours. So I don't think TWX is a fraud but they definitely don't send out renewal notices. If I didn't check my charges I would be paying for that magazine forever. God knows what they would be charging for Entertainment Weekly next year.a277c
