I discovered the series of charges on my checking account yesterday (10-11-08), fortunately only 3 in number. I looked up the charging company online to call them, and, of course, 9 out of 10 entries I found included the word "scam". I called the company and vented at the first operator I talked to, hung up on her, then called back, got a different operator, and she was valiant enough to reveal (against her company's "policy") the date and location of the online transaction that had exposed my account information to this parasitic scam. That was the information I needed. I changed my account information (it helps to have two checking accounts), ordered a new ATM card and started a bank investigation of the fraud. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Dept. of Justice (Big Woop-they're a business, so Bush loves them, and the Justice Department kisses Bush's ass. I don't expect much), and on Monday I'll be calling Hechinger's, the company whose website I visited once and once only, and picked up this dose of parasitic financial gonnorhea.
