Delivered my order to the wrong address
I ordered my wedding gown from Nordstrom.com. It was to be here May 15th. only It never got here. Turns out UPS sent my wedding dress to the wrong house and some women excepted my package. I went to every house on my street trying to find my wedding dress and knowone knows anything about it. I need the driver to remember where he brought my dress to. I dont have time to get another one.

I am very disappointed in how I have been treated by UPS
I had an unexpected delivery on Friday, February 27th, when I came home from work at 4:30 PM the box was propped against the inside main front door and my storm door was literally flapping in the wind. This incident had bent the hardware holding the storm door to the inside casing of the main front door. It literly pulled the casing away from the main door. I immediately called the delivery service to report the incident. My delemia was that I was scheduled to leave on vacation the next morning and would be gone for sometime. When I reported this incident I reported my time limitations and was told to call when I came back and someone would come out to look at the damage.
When I came back someone did come out to look and then reported the incident to Liberty Mutual Insurance, their carrier. We were contacted and were told to get estimates. The total for two new doors, instilation, and paint, came to $820.00. This is to get the doors back to the original condition. When I faxed everything to Liberty Mutual they denied the claim. When I called to dispute the refusal, I was told the driver that made the delivery said that he/she did not leave the package in any condition that would cause damage. I was also told it was their word against mine and if I did not have witnesses of the incident. Then they would not pay for the repair.
I am very disappointed in how I have been treated by UPS. I do not have the extra money to repair the and I have a large deductable on my homeowners policy.
Unhappy 1 will tell this story to anyone that will listen...I will not recommend UPS or Liberty Mutual to anyone.

Lack of attention to detail
Cliff notes:
1. UPS memo request me to leave a cheque payable to shipper in order to receive package
2. A cheque is made out to shipper
3. I come home and see my package
4. Receive another note requesting a cheque
5. Receive another note stating I need to make a cheque out to UPS, not shipper
6. I leave cheque payable to UPS
7. UPS guy calls me saying I need to make cheque payable to UPS. I say I did.
8. I get an invoice requesting money for UPS
9 I call CSR, she asks how I want to pay. I tell her the situation. She tells me her notes say a cheque is being processed.
Conclusion: UPS made mistake, keeps asking for money. CSR is careless, almost made me pay them twice.
Long Version:
I had a package delivered to me when I was not home, so the UPS guy left a memo stating that he would leave the package the next day if I write a cheque for customs brokerage. It stated, “Make cheque payable to the …” and he checked the box that said “shipper” and not “ups”.
I prepare the cheque to his request, leave it out along with the UPS memo for him to pick up the next day. When I come home from work, I see my package at my door.
Couple of weeks later, I get another UPS memo on my door stating that I need to pay for customs brokerage. It did not state any other details. I ignored it, since, I got my package and had given ups a cheque. A week after, I get another memo, this time the UPS guy gives me the details: “You had made a cheque out to the shipper, we need the cheque payable to UPS” “We will return on: Monday” So now I realize that the UPS guy made a mistake the first time and chequed the wrong box. I made a cheque out to UPS and left it and the memo out for them to pick up.
One week later, a UPS guy calls me stating that he had left a note for me and he had not received the correct cheque from me. I fully explained the above. He said OK and hung up.
Recently, I got in the mail and invoice for the custom brokerage amount. I called UPS Canada, they asked me for the invoice number. After I gave it to her, she asks how I would like to pay. I explain the situation above. Then she IMMEDIATELY says that her notes say that a cheque has been received and is being processed. I can’t believe how she had not payed attention and was so close to making me pay twice.
In the end, it was a not a detrimental experience, but the lack of attention to detail, carelessness or incompetence has made me think twice about trusting them with any package or payments. Next time I will use DHL or Fedex just for less headaches.
PS They still have my cheque that was made out to the shipper. If they like driving to my house so much, they should drop it off so I don’t need to worry about it getting cashed out. Also still wondering if the correct cheque will ever get processed.

Teared a cable from the house and ripped the siding off
On 4-18-08 a UPS Freight truck, tractor-trailer rig, damaged my home by tearing a cable from the house and ripping the siding off. There were several witnessess said the driver never even got out of the truck. He also damaged the phone lines to the house next door. I have called and reported it with no response. Now I am having a banner ad printed up that says, never do business with UPS. They damage your home, packages, etc...I will let allstate sue them for the damages. I will never use thier services again.

Employee horror story
I have been reading many of the complaints that are included in this site and would like to share and sympathize. I worked for UPS from 1985 until 2002 as a delivery driver. UPS changed dramatically after the death of its founder Jim Casey in 1987. From that day forward nothing mattered to management other than the almighty dollar. Customer service is a joke. Employees are treated like slaves. Working conditions are third world at best. UPS had a solid reputation during the late 80's and early 90's but there was a dramatic shift to the bottom line at all costs. Early on management was promoted from within but as all companies move toward a lower wage this trend stopped. This is by far the worst place I ever worked in my life. Supervisors who are in way over their heads is the norm. Safety is a afterthought. Most centers need to be audited by OSHA. But employees who speak up or take action are targeted for suspension and termination. Work weeks of 55+ hours for drivers is a regular occurrence. Let me explain in detail. As a driver you could start work at 8:30am and will not be off the street until 9:30 or 10:00pm. Fatigue is commonplace. During my time I nodded off routinely when I was driving. Safety at UPS is a smokescreen. Prozac is taken like candy by drivers, divorce is ramped, hypertension is common, production levels are unrealistic, management is unskilled and combative, and injury is considered weakness and lazy. I spent 17 years at this "hell hole" and was paid very well for my services. But I came to the realization that it was just not worth it. I quit and am happier for it. Most complaints that you may have are a direct result of a poorly managed company where stress is used as a tool for greater production, no matter what the cost to employee or consumer.

Awful experience
The UPS guy left a sticker on my door without knocking the door AND without caring to drop the package off at the leasing office of the apartment building where they are usually dropped off. This on a Friday so I called and found out that I cannot get my package till Monday because UPS only delivers special items on Saturdays and making up for their screw ups is not important enough for Saturday delivery even though one trip would deliver for multiple customers at the complex.

Just awful
I just cannot figure out what is going on with this company (UPS)? They used to be one of my favorite means of shipping. I always received my packages 2-3 days like clockwork for years. Now they're just awful! The 3 out of 4 of the packages I had shipped to me this past month (Dec-Jan 2009) through them were "Rescheduled" and arrived late. From here on until something changes I will use any other shipping service possible until they get their act together. Most of these items I needed right away and it literally ruined my whole week having to wait over the weekend until the next week to get them!

Big mistake!
My dad died in Indianapolis. He had a small chest of drawers my grandfather made in 1971. It was made of solid wood by a career cabinet maker. I wanted the chest, so I double wrapped it in bubble paper, put it in a Staples box and shipped it to Seattle via UPS, through a Staples store. Big mistake! First, UPS can't deliver in snow in Seattle. Apparently the chains they put on their trucks don't work in residential neighborhoods. The shipment was 1 1/2 weeks later than their own planned arrival date.
When the chest arrived, the bottom of the RH side was crushed. Clearly the chest had been dropped on that side. I attempted to file a claim through UPS only to totally get the run around. They absolutely would not deal with me as far as filing a claim. They told me it is up to me to work it out with Staples, which is who their contract is with. Any reputable company would actually desire to keep customers. Apparently not UPS.
Lesson learned, don't ship via UPS if possible to avoid. Especially don't ship through a "contracted outlet" like Staples or the UPS Stores.

Incredibly poor service
Well here it is 1/1/09. My packages which went out for delivery 12/22 still are not here. After no less then 50 calls to the 1800 number, 25 emails, 4 visits to the customer center, nothing. Not one person at UPS can call or give me a phone number to anyone at the Portland depot. They claim they will be caught up by 1/2, tomorrow. They took last weekend off, did not deliver last friday 12/26 or today new years. So thats 5 days of non delivery while people here wait for xmas gifts and much needed inventory for their business's. Bottom Line, UPS does not care one bit about me, you or anyone. I have contaced every local news station in Portland, consumer affairs and the BBB. The storm ended on xmas day and the post office has delivered every day since.
Oh, did I mention UPS delivered here 3 days this week? Thats right, not the late boxes, new stuff. No one at UPS can explain that either. So now 11 days later, I still do not have my inventory which is costing me customers as I have to refund orders that were to be delivered by xmas.
And still, not one person at UPS can tell me when the boxes are coming, not person at UPS from Portland can be called as the phone numbers to the depot here are at a higher level of secrecy then who killed JFK.

Terrible company
My parents sent me a package over Christmas with both my Christmas and birthday presents in then. After Christmas came and went and the package had not arrived we went to the site and ran the tracking number and it said that it had been delivered. We called them right away to discover that they had delivered it to an ex boyfriends apartment rather than my house. Not only could we look at the receipt and see that they were supposed to send it to my house but we called the local store where we went in and they as were told us that they did mess up...We called them to retrieve the package as it was their mistake and they had admitted to it, to be basically blown off. Even after explaining to them that this ex-boyfriend has threatened me and stalked and harassed they continued to tell us that they would not even attempt to retrieve the package until the following week...and that if they did not see anyone there that they would wait another week. Never mind that my parents like most people put the address they are shipping something to on the box so that they do not forget the address. I don't recommend this service to ANYONE, particularly if like me a blunder like this could risk yours or a loved ones safety.
