Fraud and cheating
Again, UPS has blundered another delivery. I placed and order and paid for UPS 2nd Day Air. Package was sent on 03.04.09. I received three (yes 3) phone calls from UPS's automated system telling me I had to be home on 03.06.09 to sign for the package since it required a signature. The hours I needed to be home? 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Yes an 11 hour window of waiting for a package. Now I typically know when the UPS driver comes by my house. I had made plans to be home that part of the morning to get the package. If I miss them they claim they will make two more delivery attempts or (as I usually do) I pick the package up at the UPS hub that in only 2 miles away. So after I see the UPS driver go past my house, I get online to track the package. The delivery date has been rescheduled to 03.09.09. Now mind you the third and final call I got yesterday was around 6:00 pm at night telling me to expect the package. So, I call UPS and I am told it was 'delayed' really? I had no idea. But it would delivered on 3/9. So I say well I took the day off today since you called me three times yesterday to get the package and now what I am suppose to do since I won't be home on Monday to get it. The UPS CSR assured me they would make three attempts to deliver it. I said, but I won't be home to sign for it. Then he said, they can deliver it to another address like my office. But my home is my office and I am in my car all day long. So what would you like me to do? Well you can pick it up during normal business hours by calling us and letting us know you want to pick up the package. But why should I after taking a day off of work now have to drive to the UPS place to pick my package that I wouldn't be able to pick-up until the earliest of 3/10. Now that is six (6) days after it was sent 2nd Day Air.

Don't waste your money with UPS ship packages USPS Priority Mail or FedEx, at least with USPS they deliver on Saturday along with FedEx, and they don't seem to lie all the time about the status of your package.

Terrible service
Guaranteed delivery of 10:30AM CST. Driver failed to deliver, with the reason being missing suite number. The suite number is on the shipping label. The response was the driver has returned to the station and will deliver on the next day, and the compensation offered was the refund of the shipping costs.

The delayed delivery cost far exceeds the cost of delivery.

DAMAGED ITEM
Bought electronic item on ebay. It was shipped via U P S & extra insurance from a separate company was purchased to cover the $589.00 item . Item was damaged in shipment & claim filed . U P S said they only pay insurance claim to SHIPPER & that I must send item back to shipper . This was done & shipper was PAID . Then shipper would not reimburse me any money & would not return the item . U P S was no help as they FULFILLED their obligatuion .

The seller of the item turned out to be a thief also as promising to send money & later promising to send item were just lies .

Unable to change delivery options for international package
Lenovo from China shipped a laptop to me to the United States.

On the first delivery attempt on 11/26, the driver left a note that another attempt will be made on Monday 12/1 which is after thanksgiving. I called the phone number listed, I asked the package to be held at the local UPS office, so that I can pick it up. The automated message said there was a problem with processing the request and that I should try later.

Later I used the website to do the same. It was the thanks giving weekend and so the following monday I went to the UPS center and they said the package was again out for delivery and that it was the third attempt. Apparently there was another attempt made on 11/28 at 5pm, which was earlier than what the note said. If I had known that, I would have been home at that time. I was given a phone number which the automated message didn't help.

I came back and went to the website again where I tried to change the delivery method and I got an error which asked me to call 1800-811-1652.

When I called that phone number and I was told that it was the wrong phone number and that I should call 1800-782-7892; but the lady was kind enough to transfer me.

I am tired of running around behind UPS and most importantly waiting for the express package to arrive.

Worst customer service
I paid $78 for next day air shipping which is supposed to get to a place by 10:30a.m. . 11:30a.m. rolls around, I call customer service and they tell me that there are zip code exceptions to that guarantee. I use UPS World Ship software to process my orders and there was no indication that this zip code was an exception. So, I paid $78 for a service that I could have paid $8 for and it would have been delivered at the exact same time. The supervisor I spoke to told me its my fault, I should have known, and she will not refund the difference. What horrible customer service UPS provides and unfortunately its not up to me to cancel our shipping account, or else I would have instantly. I recommend never using UPS, go with FedEx or DHL.

Scam artists
I ordered a package from Newport News on 6/24/08. Newport News said the package was shipped on 6/26/08 with a 5-7 day ETA. Should have been here 7/3/08 at the latest. When I checked the tracking number on the UPS website it said IN TRANSIT. When I called the tracking number into their 800 line, the automated system said the package was on it's way to me. When I spoke with a UPS customer service rep, she said the package was not going to be delivered until 7/9/08. This would be more than 2 weeks since I originally placed the order at Newport News. She went on to say that the 6/26 shipping date that Newport News had reported was in fact only the billing date and the package had not been received by UPS until 6/30. Now, why on Earth would they bill for the shipping before even receiving the package. It seems to me that someone let the package sit around the UPS warehouse before it was loaded on to the truck.

When I spoke with Newport News, they assured me the package had been shipped on 6/26 and should have arrived no later than 7/3/08. I have never had any problems with Newport News and am more inclined to believe them than the shoddy CSRs at UPS. When I asked if there was anyway they could speed up the delivery process, the UPS CSR, fatly denied anyway of doing so. When I offered to pay, she said I would have to contact the shipper. When I asked about an ETA after hypothetically speaking with the shipper and upgrading the shipping process, she said I have to ask the shipper. When I asked what if I upgraded to overnight shipping, could you get it to me overnight. she said I would STILL have to ask Newport News. How the heck are they going to know the ETA when even the carrier themselves could or would not give me that info.

SOMEBODY DOESN'T LIKE TO DO ANY MORE WORK THAN THEY HAVE TOOO. BOO HOO FOR YOU, UPS!

Terrible service!
I was visiting my Mother in Arizona for my birthday and Mother's Day. When I was packing up all my belongings, I realized I did not have enough room in my suit case to take all the gifts and items I bought, and the presents from my Mother and sister. I decided to ship all the gifts home. I decided to put insurance on the package, because I have had packages in the past come and items would be broken and damaged. I didn't even think for one minute about the possibility of it never even showing up.

I now wish I had insured the package for the whole value. I paid $29.86 for the insurance and shipping. I shipped the package on the 8th of May and it was to arrive at my home by the 14th of May. Well it never showed up. I call UPS and they told me that they delivered the package and place it on my front porch. I find that hard to believe. I am a stay at home mom I would have known if they came by.

I reported the claim and I waited and waited. Finally after about 6 weeks I called UPS again. This time I talked to a supervisor. She took a statement from me in regards to the contents of the package. She then informed me they would have to send a UPS driver out to my address to verify shipment. I was to wait a week and call back.

I waited nothing happened . We are now in June I called UPS again, and this time they told me they had no information on a claim and I would have to start over. I was very angry. I waited again for the driver to come to my home He finally showed up in July. I called the UPS again, because they told me I could now file the claim. WRONG I was told that I can't start the claims process the company that I shipped the package from they are the ones that have to start the claims process. I was so angry I almost gave up. So I waited and waited. I heard nothing. I finally got a letter in the mail in November claiming that they could not locate the package, and I need to turn in a inventory list with receipts to the shipper. I called the shipper and they FORECLOSED. Can you believe that.

Now we are in December I told UPS about the store closing. They informed me that I had to start over. I had to turn in a request for me to file the claim since the store is no longer in business. I was told to wait until I was contacted. I waited and waited. NOTHING I called again in January, once again the information on there system just kept saying my delivery was left on my porch. I ask for a supervisor who than informed me that I had to start the claim again. They sent a driver out to my house AGAIN, and then told me to wait a week to check on my claim. February, I called in again to complain that all the items I told them were in my package they only put 2 on there report. I sent in all the forms, receipt, and shipping information. They told me they would get back to me. I called again now we are in March they told me they are going to pay the claim, but not for the full amount because they only give back what UPS charges for shipping not for the whole total.

We are now going on a year since I sent my package. I had over 2300.00 worth of stuff in the package. I am out at least 850.00 $ because I never thought my package would not show up. I have missed work to deals with this. I have had so much stress. This is April I still have not received the check for my replacement claim. I am not even sure if it will ever come. I will never use UPS again. I feel they dragged this on. I had everything they requested and I bet they were hoping I would just give up.

Remember to ALWAYS keep all your receipts and shipping information. If a package does not show up at your home call the shipper and have them file a claim ASAP. keep calling and don't give up. Do not forget when you ship a package make sure you put the replacement value on the package, and request that someone has to sign for it.

UPS lies!
I ordered something on Ebay and the seller, in good faith, fully addressed the package and took it to their UPS store, paid for the shipping and kissed it goodbye. I never received the package. A month later, I find out that the day after it was shipped, the driver marked it as undeliverable because there wasn't an apartment number. Later the same evening, he returned the shipment saying that I refused the package. Nary a slip was left -- with just my name as he says my apartment number was missing - nor did they hold the package for five days and leave notices for me. They immediately returned it to the UPS store where the counter person signed for it and then just let it sit there. Now that we have finally found the package and the UPS store confirms that the apartment number is legibly written on the package, UPS insists that I pay AGAIN to ship it as the apartment number doesn't show up on their "manifest." Even though I point out that the driver lied about the apartment number, lied about my refusing the package (if he couldn't find me, how did I refuse it?), and then returned it without holding it for five days or leaving notices, they still say that I need to pay to reship the package. What can Brown do for me? Not much. I just flush after I make some. DON'T USE UPS!!! THEY SUCK AND THEY APPARENTLY HATE CUSTOMERS.

Overcharges!
UPS has a policy of manipulating shipments from infrequent users and adding back door charges for problems that do not occur.
