Once or twice a year we have flooding in the basement due to heavy rains. We want to finish the basement so we called in 4 contractors to see if they could solve our problem. All came up with similar solutions for trenching and piping to a sump pump, but United's plan sounded like the most comprehensive way to go, and based on their high grades on Angies list we decided to go with them. They gave us an install date a few weeks in advance and told us it should take one day to dig a trench around the perimeter of our basement, lay pipe, cover with stone, cover with concrete and install a sump pump. We were skeptical of the timing estimate but the day of the job they came with a team of six and by the time I came home for lunch, were nearly completed. They ran into a few issues trenching, but instead of charging us extra, just handled. The crew was United's people, they do not subcontract and the crew chief was very thorough on explaining and performing the work. They even brought a second team in during the afternoon and finished early. The work was done exactly as specified, they were very careful about keeping the areas clean and we were very happy with the job they did. We won't know until the next big storm on how effective the solution is but we are optimistic. We have already recommended them to neighbors.
