raising our mortgage pmt by purchasing high dollar ins on out home when we have repetedly proved we have insurance
last yr we sent an insurance pmt to american home ins co which is who our home is insured with and has been since purchase. Some person at our ins co sent us bank a letter stating that we cancelled our insurance policy. Our policy has been currant without a lapse in coverage as long as we have had it. US bank sent us a ;etter saying they were purchasing us an insurance policy for us as we had none. I called ins co and they sent a fax to prove we had currant insurance. I wrote several letters. Just got their latest letter and they have added on the amt of a high dollar ins policy to our monthly mortgage pmt. Over 150.00 mo. We still have insurance and they refuse to acknorwedge that. How can they do this?

WRONG OVERDRAFTS and UNKNOWN ACCOUNTS
I was a valued bank memeber with US BANK for a few years. I closed the acount because I caught them putting overdraft fees on my account FOR NO REASON!!! I had to call FIVE times before someone just admitted they didn't know how that happened. The other reps just tried to figure a way to make it seem like I'm crazy. Fortunately, I got someone after the fifth call that knew it was unexplainable. Anyway, so I closed that account. When I tried to open another account at another bank, I was in the chexsystems for US BANK!!! The other bank rep told me that US BANK said I owed them $$2, 750.00!!! So, when I called them to ask WTF, the rep tolp me I had 3 accounts and they all had a balance of over $300.00. I'm in the process getting it resolved, but it doesn't make sense that I have to go through this!!! NEVER BANK WITH US BANK!!!

overdraft charges
On may 26 of this year my husand and I deposited 2 checks totaling 520.00 with a check was a us bank check, the teller on duty put it in the computer as a out of state check, when we realized the mistake we went back the same day, the bank manager sara, gave us something called a curisty credit of 400.00 until our check cleared, she was supposed to take it back off the next morning, so we went on as usual trusting our bank to do what their paid to do, thinking that she took this back off, 6 weeks later july 1st we get a overdraft notice for 225.00 that we didnt understand considering that we still had over 150.00 in our account, the bank manager that we trusted did not take the credit back until july 1st bouncing everything we had, not only did they take the 150.00, but they expected us to pay 385.00 in fees, that bitch is a theif, that bank is a fraud and we are not paying this, if she had done her job and taken this credit off the next day as she should have this would not have happened, so BEWARE!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK, THEY ARE RUDE, MISLEADING PEOPLE

Late fee charges
I added my US Bank credit card to my US Bank bill Pay almost 2 months ago received a phone call from them stating that I had not payed my bill...I had assumed that US Bank would have provided me with bill alerts being that it is after all THEIR bank and also due to the fact that when I set up the bill pay for THEIR card that THEY issued me the US Bank website stated that the information would be added to my bill pay since they have information on the biller that I was adding...needless to say, no notice was given and yes a "late fee" was charged for what they claim was "My oversight."

Overcharged
I just switched to US Bank and now have realized that they make their credit card payment due dates 5 days earlier if you pay the balance in full and on time the month before. If you don't pay the entire balance you get an extra 5 days before it's due next month. This might be okay for people who can never pay the full amount, but in trying to be responsible and paying off my credit card every month I am forced to come up with the money 5 days earlier.

This is especially a problem for people like me who get paid twice a month. The first check goes mostly to rent and the second goes mostly to pay off my credit card bill. Because it is now due 5 days earlier for paying the last month on time I am forced to not be able to pay it all (because I will get paid 3 days from when it's due).

Maybe I'm crazy, but it doesn't seem right that their company can make your payment due 5 days earlier from paying ON TIME and IN FULL. It just doesn't make any sense to me and quite frankly feels like a way for them to make it harder to pay it off so they can charge you more interest fees.

I have emailed and called customer service representatives about this and none of them can help me (so they say). They say that this is just how it is. Please let me know if this is actually not so unusual, as I could be over reacting.

Overcharged
US Bank puts hold on even on cash. So even you have the cash funding there, it's like you do not have it. So they can start to charge you overcharge fee, ie $37.50 per traction, regardless how much the traction is. My son deposited $200 cash on two different occasions. So he has more than enough to spend, but with this $37.50 charge US Bank charged behind his back, even when he had $141.67 funding in his account US Bank charged him the $37.50 fee. After he deposited his second $200 cash would not prevent US Bank to charge him additional $37.50 twice for spending $4.64 and $7.77 respectively when he had $205.92 funding in his account because US Bank withheld his cash deposit again.

I wen to the bank immediately after receiving this little post card coming in after five days later in the mail (by this time, US BANK already have charged you God knows how much), they have their ways to justify the charges. But I feel this has against the good faith law. Big company is the one in the position to set up those complicated rules and subjected to change without notice as we all know. I do not feel US Bank put themselves in the position to help their customers to prevent this kind of charges from keeping happening. They are more interested to defend themselves and having the attitude like ' Cats catches rats'. There times, the tellers told me this is 'how US Bank make money.'

US Bank is the one deciding when your fund become available and US Bank is also the one let the transaction go through when they decided that you do not have fund available so US Bank can charge you. But the transaction is normally much less ( like my son's case only seven eleven, McDonald's) than the overdraft charge is. SO the bank said they have done you a 'favor'. let your transaction go through. One thing I questioned the Bank was when US Bank charges you such a high penalty, they do not email you nor send out any message through your internet message center. I guess by law, they had to notify you. SO this little post card arrived after so many days later, so US Bank can continue to charge you the $37.50/transaction plus $8.00/day in between. W ANd US Bank continues After I went to the bank yesterday, to my surprise, US Bank has charged two addition $37.50 as mentioned above to my son's account. So I understand how some people are ripped off badly.

I have asked US Bank to set up some kind overdraft protection plan but the applications turned in and never got responses back.

I talked to Lisa at 800 number last night. She was nice enough to waive one of the $37.50 off when we were still talking the line was cut off (I called three times last night, all three were cut off during conversation, ??) I will go in to the bank this PM to see if the manager would help me out. Or I will have to close the account, it's too worrisome to do business this way.

Charge me with Fraud
I worked for a company near a US Bank, I found out that the company kept all it accounts at the US Bank. So I opened a checking account at that US Bank, BIG MISTAKE. My first pay check was placed on hold for over one week. They stated they needed to verify the check. I was promised in writing, after much complaining to have the check released and credited to my account on a specific date. I need to pay my bills and so on that day the check was to be released I sent payments. Well, I found out the check was not released, it was sent to US Bank Fraud Division. They had to check to see if the check was a fraud. Mind you all was need was a call to the company less than a mail away. US Bank claimed this was standard procedure with a check for the amount on my paycheck..some $1400.00. After a mouth the what was left of my check was credited to my account. During all this US Bank took money, insuffent funds fees out of my check, when one of the checks I wrote came in. I showed the bank manager the letter from them promising me the check would be credited to my account an a specificed date, her rely.."We were investigating a possible fraud"...I was never charged with any crime by US Bank or any other agency or person.

Lease
US Bank "steals" again! Actually, my nickname for US Bank is the
"U Suck" Bank of America...Leased a Honda CRV for four years and turned it into the dealership on the due date. Not one late payment EVER! There were NO Excess Wear & Tear damages. The car was in pristine condition with 2, 000 miles UNDER the lease agreement. Then, a month later, I recieved an "End of the Contract" Termination fee for $420 bucks...WHAT! We've leased prior and have never been charged a penny for FULFILLING the lease agreement. I guess this is why the banks are such a struggling financial institution and need government assistance...yeah right. Not if you're stealing like US Bank! I'm done with them and will NEVER deal with US BANK for anything! I'm writing a letter to the car dealerships and urging them to eliminate US Bank as an option for financing any kind of auto loan. I feel like I have to personally do something to stop the dirty scoundrels!

Unjustified interest rate hike
We have been with US Bank for several years with a low "Fixed"? credit card interest rate of 7.9%. Have always paid on time or early at least minimum payment or more and never over our credit limit. During these hard times we have had to use our credit in order for our small business to survive and have ran up some debts. Even though, we always pay all our bills on time and make the minimum payment or more. They decided to raise our interest rate from 7.9% to 15.9%, not because we were not paying our bills on time but simply because we had, in their opinion, too much debts. What about them? We did not get any money from the government as they did, our money, my money. Those Banks are simply crooks and could not care less about their good customers and they will end up with all the bad customers who will default. We paid them off and will never go back to that Bank. There are several other Banks out there who do not use those predatory practices and treat their customers right. Our other Bank, National City has treated us well and did not raise our low fixed interest rate and even raised our credit line. They behave like a Bank should and work with their customers during those hard times.
