Horrible Customer Service
On Wed Aug 4th at 10:25 am I went into the branch to withdraw from their ATM located inside an amount of money. After the transaction, I tried to see my balance and after 3 different tries I wasn't able to. I went inside the branch and I asked the clerk to help me with my account because the ATM outside wasn't working properly. First off, the blond girl 'helping' me didn't care a bit that the ATM wasn't working. Secondly, she took my ATM card and went in the back for a long time, without any other explanation. At this point I asked the other brunette girl (which seemed to be the manager) why did she take my card and why is it taking this long. She told me that she needs to verify the card because I didn't show her my ID. I went back to my car and got my ID and showed it to her asking for my balance. I was in much hurry and all I'm getting is 2 slow moving girls like turtles that have no consideration for the customer. The brunette, started arguing with me without a point about why the ID is important and all that, and while I understand it, I don't understand why after I showed her my ID she still keeps on going with a very vindictive tone and a mean spirit attitude. Is that the type of customer service US bank calls 'stellar'?! Thank you very much, but I better not have to deal with that again!
After I left the branch, i called them again, asking for the manager's name and they refused to give it to me or to let me take with the so called manager.
I think that's the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with and I need someone to take responsibility for these employees that have no idea what they're doing and on top of that they're cocky, rude, and unprofessional!

Customer Service
US Bank incorrectly charged me with $112.50 in overdraft charges. I call the customer service line for assistance. The Rep. did see the charges were incorrectly charged to my account. I asked the Rep to remove the charges from my account. The Rep informed me she was unable to remove the charges and I would have to go back to the bank where I opened the account. I informed her I no longed lived near the branch and was there any other way to resolve the issue. The Rep told me the only way I could resolve the issue was to go to the branch. I got the issue resolved after having to make a 115 mile round trip drive to the branch where I originally opened the account. THANKS US BANK FOR MAKING ME DRIVE 115 MILES FOR YOUR MISTAKE!!! CAN I CHARGE US BANK FOR MY GAS AND TIME.

Charged an enormous prepayment fee
We took out a mortgage loan on a rental property of ours. Actually we had several with US Bank. When we decided to sell some of our properties, we went to the closing and found the bank had assessed a $13, 304 prepayment penalty on a loan of $123, 000. Now we also sold another property the same week that still held a mortgage of $73, 000 and the prepayment penalty of that loan was $250. The loans for both those properties were opened on the exact same day and sold a week apart. We were appalled that there could be such an enormous difference. I talked with the US Treasury and several bank executives, but with no luck. Warning to anyone dealing with US Bank, be sure there are no prepayment penalties.

Frivolous overdraft fees
I signed up for the program they were offering that automatically transferred $25 from Checking to savings each month. After realizing that they hold checks for way too long and going out of town for 10 days and getting hit with hundreds of dollars of overdraft fees, I decided to take my business to Chase. I kept my US Bank account open however, and left $15 in checking. July 1st came along and US Bank took it upon themselves to continue the savings transfer program even though I didn't have $25 in my checking account. They overdrafted my checking account and transferred $25 into my savings account. They then charged me a $25 negative balance fee. The kicker is that the month before they apparently did something different with the transfer and my savings account ended up being -$25, so the $25 that they transferred over just went to pay the negative balance that they created the month before. US BANK IS DETERMINED TO STEAL THE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT AS FAST AS THEY CAN!! Read all the other posts that say the very same thing. When you question them on the wisdom of overdrawing a checking account just to transfer money to savings, they reply with a smug letter explaining how hard they work to meet stringent quality standards and exceed customer expectations. Horrible company...even by banking standards.

Terrible place to bank/work
I am a US Bank employee and I despise the place. I understand it’s a job but it’s an awful job, I spent an hour everday looking for new employment. The service is terrible, the place is poorly run and the pay is downright disgusting. I take every chance I get to turn friends and family away from the place. Find a nice local bank or a credit union, avoid big banks. Just like US Bank customers….the employees are just another number, no personal attention. And they look for any and every chance to charge a fee and that includes employees. It’s not fair to the hard working, honest, well meaning person.

Unwarranted NSF Fees
I made an ATM deposit and withdrawal at 11:45pm on the 28th, but says posting on 29th of June, . Before I left, I looked online and saw that transactions that I had made on the 26th but posting on the 28th had cleared, nothing pending and still had money in bank. The next day, there were 3 overdraft fees and question marks beside the previous transactions. There was nothing negative until after the NSF's. The following day two more NSF fees. I went to branch and although the employee agreed with me, the manager said that she would not reverse them and stated that they affected the other transactions even though I had enough money to cover them. States that they held $50 of my deposit until following day. I was told that a deposit made in ATM was not posted until next day and also told that the deposit for $150 only gave me access to $100 until it posted. Seems like the computer had it right but the employees made it logical for the NSF's. How can a transaction that happened a day after everything posted affect the account when it wasn't negative? I could understand the last two but nothing before that. I'm an Inventory Controller and numbers person, there is no logical explanation for what I am looking at and have also printed for proof. They have taken $187.50 out, making me short on my rent. I have been a customer of US Bank for 7 years and have caught them in so many errors that I watch my account daily. This is bad business to say the least! I also called their 1-800 USBANKS number today and was treated rudely and told that there was no way that I could dispute this action. Are they right or can you help me?

I would never recommend this bank, their customer service is rude
I have had a credit card for over 13 YEARS with US BANK at 9.9% FIXED. Never Late always paid on time. Well they raised my rate, called them and they were very RUDE and quoted their little fine print. I also have a home loan with them with a fixed rate, but my payment depending on the escrow goes up then goes down the next year, then back up, them back down. I would NEVER recommend this bank, their customer service is RUDE, the credit card rate increase shows me they could give a crap about long time excellent credit customers with them. I signed up years ago for a FIXED rate credit card they screwed me over big time!

Two unrelated experiences in recent weeks show the bank has no problem exploiting their customers for fees
US Bank SUCKS! Two unrelated experiences in recent weeks show the bank has no problem exploiting their customers for fees. The latest one involves my daughter where a US Bank teller deposited funds into the wrong account (we specifically asked for money to go into the account tied to her debit card). We informed our daughter of the deposit we made and, based on that information, she subsequently used her debit card which over drew the account. I consider US Bank’s actions particularly egregious in two areas. First, the bank refuses to accept any responsibility for the teller’s error. Second, the bank allowed repeated debit card use for several consecutive (seven) days, rather than declining the transactions. The entire time the account had a negative balance, made all that much worse by exaggerated overdraft and negative balance fees. After some investigation, this appears to be common practice for branches on or near college campuses (my daughter is a student at SDSU). I consider these actions to be unethical and borderline criminal. I will never conduct any type of business with US Bank again and will take every opportunity to share my displeasure regarding US Bank to anybody who will listen.

Fees Fees Fees
Where do I start?
First off I was with Cal National Bank before they were taken over by US Bank, and I will state that I had never had the problems nor the fees charged to any of my accounts with any bank than at US Bank. Thats saying a lot considering I use to bank with Washington Mutual before Cal National and they were horrible.
When US Bank First started to continue the business of Cal National Bank I asked my the service rep. at my branch if the account that I previously had with
Cal National was going to remain the same as the current account at US Bank, considering that bank policies vary between institutions? The Rep. said that the account is the same and would be handled the same. This is to say the least was a lie to keep my business. In the past four weeks I have had checks bounce (the first time in my life) outrageous overdraft and Non sufficient funds charges, all with out my account actually being in the negative. yes they charge overdraft fees on account activities that have not yet hit your account. so wile a pending transaction means funds have not yet been released they already charged your account the overdraft fee. Some say that is standard practice but every time a Pending transaction made my account negative, I would transfer funds from a savings to the negative account before the pending transactions were released therefore my actual account balance never hitting a negative marker.
If this isn't enough when you try to talk to US Banks Customer Service. they act like your a thief trying to steel your own money from them.
I give US Bank's Customer Service a big Fat "F". They are very unhelpful, very condescending and leave you with irate and insecure feeling about their
institution and your money.
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH US BANK AND IF YOU ARE CURRENT CUSTOMER LIKE ME, DO LIKE ME AND RUN!
