I believe this is a scam
US Bank department that handles the HAM Program that Barrack Obama initiated sucks. I was suppose to be contacted in 45 days for refinancing my home with U.S. bank. It has been 3-4 months. I called and was put on hold several times. There is no direct number to the H.A.M. Program.
I believe this is a scam offered by Barrack Obama through U.S. Bank just to make Obama look like he is doing something to alleviate the housing market.
Worst customer service ever!

Your money is safer in your matress
US Bank operates a scheme by which they will hold your deposits an inordinate amount of time, clear transactions from largest amount to smallest, and kill you with fee's after they make damn sure that you over draft with five piddly transactions that may add up to a few dollars. They hit with 37.00 dollars per overdraft, then knock you over the head with a 7.00 dollar daily negative balance fee, next they kick you in the balls and step on your neck with an additional 37.00 dollar overdraft for each one of their 7.00 dollar daily negative balance fees. An error on your part amounting to a few cents or a couple of dollars will send you account into a negative spiral costing you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in a very short time. They did not explain this pitfall when I opened an account and the agreement and accompanying literature does not mention this either. They however will condescend to explain it to you while treating you like dirt after they suck up your whole pay check with fees for a two dollar error on your part. US Bank is EVIL. Put your money in a small community bank and restrain from feeding this monstrosity your hard earned cash.

Improper service ruins customer credit
On March, 11, 2009 I called US Bank and closed my Account. At the time I was informed everything is fine and the annual membership fee will be waived and the account will be closed immediately. The statement for membership fee was never received in January 2009 or February 2009. Later in the first week of May 2009 one of my credit accounts was cancelled and it stated that my credit score has reduced due to a delinquency. So we are cancelling your account. Immediately, I went to a kinkos and pulled my credit online. To my surprise US Bank had reported that I failed to pay some amount so they reported it to credit bureaus. I insisted that the account was closed on March 11, 2009, but the customer representative says that there is nothing in her system that shows that I ever contacted card member services. Anyways, I closed the account again on May, 11, 2009 and asked for a letter in writing that the account is closed. After waiting for a few weeks I called again and believe it or not the account was still open and active. On May, 30, 2009 and requested the account to be closed the third time and finally I received a letter in June 2009 that the account is now closed. In july I received the statement for the month of March 2009 and a check for some refund. According to the record out of the blue US Bank owed me money so they sent me a check. I reported this to credit bureaus, but you know US corporations rule. Nobody is here to listen a regular person. It has been an year and I have been fighting to get this shit removed from my credit, but US Bank insists that everything is accurate. If anybody has any idea on how to get this mess fixed. Please let me know.
Damage Resulting in
Credit score was reduced and due to that a few credit cards were cancelled by the banks and interest rates were raised on the remaining accounts.

Shorted $100.00 Tellers drawer has $1,600.00 overage refuse to give me my $100.00
This evening 03/01/10 I went through the drive up of the US Bank on the southside of Pueblo, CO. I wanted to withdrawl $650.00 from my savings account. The teller Casey Kirk placed the money along with my receipt, ID, and ATM card in an envelope without ever counting the money back to me. I started to pull forward when I saw that the teller had shorted me $100.00 there was only 4 one hundred dollar bills and 3 fifty dollar bills in the envelope, so I immediately pulled up to the building and went inside. Another teller Ms. ? Chavez asked to help me I explained the situation and she said "he is going to have to count his drawer" with a nasty little attitude!
I moved off to the side so other customers could be helped and waited while Casey counted his drawer. He finished up and quietly directed Ms. Chavez to his computer screen which I could see read drawer over $1, 600.00. Ms. Chavez recounted everything in is his drawer and came to the same amount. Ms. Chavez then proceeds to tell me "we can't just give you the $100.00 until we verify he is over, since this happened so late today we are already on the next days business so you are going to have to wait until Thurday." There is nothing we can do now.
So I am just supposed to leave the bank $100.00 cash short and trust these screw ups. The best part is if I would have been the one to make a screw up on my account then I would be charged $35.00 per screw up and then an additional $5.00 per day I didn't deposit the money to cover my screw up and fees! I was assured though I have a "5 Star Service Guarantee", yea a 5 star service guarantee that they just STOLE $100.00 cash from me! So basically I just paid for Ms. Chavez and Casey Kirk to go have a nice meal on me here in lovely Pueblo, CO!

lowered limit less than whats owed
US Bank are straight crooks. I made one payment late, they lowered my limit to less than what I owed, then charged me not only a late fee but an over the limit fee. It made me so mad I stopped making payments to them all together. Now its totally ruined my credit. They call 20 times a day even on Sun at &:00 am. They can kiss my ass. What they do should be illegal. They can fuck off...

Outrageous overdraft fees
This banks overdraft fees are outrageous. At 39 dollars per check overdrawn...it can wipe out a weeks pay check in no time. Accidents happen. Most consumers are careful about their spending and do not overdraw their accounts on purpose.
I think if a person has a good record and credit history that these fees should b e waved after the first charge.
The second problem is the way they list the incoming checks online. The state ment reads the order of checks incom ing one way and the next day when you check your online account the list is totally different. THis can cause a real mess if one is overdrawn.

Hard hearted corporation
Don't know if anyone at will actually read this. Be humane. Do things for the greater good instead of enforcing policies that ruin people's lives.
Times are hard, but do corporations have to become hard hearted in the process? Sometimes I wish that I could have lived during another time period and also in a culture where materialism was not viewed as a virtue. I know of someone who has dealt with this institution and the mayhem that it has caused in this persons' life. No amt of money in the world is worth all that.

changed numbers to avoid stimulus
US Bank changed my file information and incorrectly reported to Fannie Mae so I would not qualify for a simulus re-fi loan on my home and avoid foreclosure.
US Bank sent me a letter telling me I was late and at risk. The same day I got a letter from Fannie Mae telling me that US Bank reported me on time, and I did not qualify for a stimulus. I called Fannie Mae. Two days later I got a letter tellling me I was not late. I called, but was told I was still not qualified because I was late.
US Bank changed my file information and incorrectly reported to Fannie Mae deliberately, to avoid granted a stimulus re-fi on my home loan.

Lies, lies, lies
Not only did their sales rep LIE to me about what I could do with an equity line, but now I've learned that the only thing I can do online is LOOK at my account. Can't pay it, can't pay from it. Total waste of my credit. It's been this way for nearly a year and all the internet people can tell you is 'sorry, ' that's the way our system is. Avoid US Bank . Go someplace where their system and service is up to speed and in line with 2009 technology!
