A very nice gentleman named "Bill Powell" called us this evening and indicated that he was from the Divi Resorts where we have ownership in a condo in St. Maarten. He indicated that he was their Inventory Director and noticed that we were on the "inactive owner list". He called to inquire whether or not we would like to sell our condo for a really nice price that was more than we paid for it. All we had to do was overnight him a check in the amount of $1, 531.00 which would cover their processing and showcase fee. He wanted the check made out to him, personally, with a notation at the bottom of the check that showed our condo number, etc. He indicated that Divi was having a big sale this weekend and that if our condo didn't sell, he'd send the check back to us. Of course, he would provide a tracking number for our convenience. The more my husband talked to this nice man, the more unbelievable the conversation became. Who in their right mind would send in money to sell their condo??? And, as an added bonus, he indicated that he knew of a bunch of people flying in over the weekend to view all the condos that were for sale, so we had a really good chance of selling it really fast. So, I think I would stay away from Vacation Properties Resalers. My husband said that the check for $1, 531.00 would be overnighted tomorrow. I'm sure we'll get a call back from Mr. Powell. Please, please, in the name of all that is holy, let there not be any fool out there who would actually fall for this scam.
