Change of service without permission!
I had Verizon Internet Service at $14.99 per month for life up until Wednesday, January 23, 2008. One of the pushy sales representatives changed my plan to double that amount when I originally just called to find out if I still had the "Call Waiting feature on my telephone. I do not understand when I called the next day which was Thursday, January 24, 2008 to switch back to the $14.99 for life Internet (DSL) service that it was not available anymore. That tells me that it was a scam to get me to switch from the $14.99 per month for life to a higher plan. I cannot afford to pay more money because I have a high overhead as it is and I tried to tell them that. So what they did for me was change it back to $14.99 for only one year and then it will go up after that time to a higher amount. This is very unfair and unethical business practices and Verizon should be held accountable for such business tactics. I am appalled and very unhappy at this point with Verizon. I want everyone to be made aware of this so they do not get caught up in the same predicament as myself.

Re-issued my account!
My issue is with Verizon Broadband Internet and FiOS. I have been a Verizon DSL customer since 2004. My account was [email protected] until Monday, November 26, 2007 when my DSL account was disabled by Verizon, because [email protected] was given out to a John DeLuca of 15 Murray St Manhattan NY, who is a FiOS customer. The only reason I know that is a representative from Verizon had discovered the problem. I have spent hours on the phone being transferred back and forth between the Billing department, the DSL tech support staff, and the FiOS people. Each either blaming me or the other service. They want to give me a credit for 7 days, but I have to wait 3 or 4 billing cycles to receive the credit. Since this problem started, I have lost all my email, along with the email from my wife and daughters account and I have had no Internet service for 4 days. As of today Friday, December 28, 2007 this issue is still not fixed and Verizon has stated there is nothing they can do. They are balking at giving me any more credit.

Cancellation of services!
I switched my phone and Internet services from Verizon to Comcast because Comcast offered three services (including cable) at one low price. I have been trying to disconnect my DSL service from Verizon for over a week now. Everytime I called last week, I got a message saying that 'all agents are currently busy, please hang up and call back later'. I finally got thru todayat 10: 29 AM. After going thru their menu and telling them that I wanted to cancel my services, they told me that the next available agent will speak to me and put me on hold with some music playing. It is now 12:23 AM (almost 2 hours later) and I am still on hold listening to that monotonous music.

Lack of service
Verizon Sucks, PERIOD.
I tried several months ago to get DSL service, for 7 years I have waited for service and now when I go to the verizon website and enter my number I get "congratulations, DSL service is available on this number".
Or is it?
I got my confirmation, a few days later I got my modem and start date, 10 days later I get an e-mail saying, sorry, DSL service is not available to your number!
So I send the junk back and wait, a couple of days pass and I check my number on there site again, this time its not available.
So several months pass and I happened to check my phone bill online and it told me again I could get DSL, I called one of there pushy sales reps who told me to go for it! so I did, I got my confirmation e-mail again, I got my equipment again and 6 days later I got the "DSL IS NOT AVAILABLE" e-mail.
Why do they play head games with people, I am not that far outside of a BIG university town of more then 23,000 students, guess where the DSL/FIOS is...
So I pay the same amount as anyone in town for my phone service, in 7 years I know they have had 2 major upgrades, one to DSL and the other to FIOS, I still sit with a Dial Up connection, but verizon wants to offer me dial up, is that an insult or what?
Verizon like most other corporations needs to be broken up and made smaller, its obvious they cannot or will not talk or listen to there customers, even 3rd world countries have DSL.

Wrong charge - no refund!
On 07- 28-2006, Verizon sent me a package for DSL installation, in response of my online DSL ordering. However, this package didn't contain the modem required for high speed internet connection. So I called them in the following week twice to get the modem, and they said they were going to send the modem. But I never got the modem. So I ordered internet service from another provider. However, Verizon kept charging me every month for no service. I wrote them to explain that I didn't have the service. Then, I canceled my Verizon telephone service and they sent me the final bill, which included $129.77 for DLS service I never received. I called Tampa Verizon office, Becky answered the phone and said she could not give me the credit. Seeing that I persisted, she called her supervisor. The supervisor also didn't want to give me the credit but finally he gave me $30 credit. So I paid Verizon $99.77 for receiving no DSL service. I want Verizon refund the wrong charge. By the way, Verizon did not have DSL available in my area when I ordered the service. In retrospect, this seems to me a trap.

Extremely bad customer service!
We purchased Verizon DSL and paid up front to have the service hooked up. When the day came to download and get the service running after many, many hours on the phone with a service tech the service was still not connected. We did get told that we would have a service ticket activated to have someone come out and help us. Well it has been two or three weeks later and yet no sign of anyone. So I called today and I was told that the note from the original service tech was incomplete so the "ticket" was cancelled. I asked her how this was our fault and what did that do to get the situation rectified and she just said "sorry". I then asked her why if I made an agreement for a bill of approximately $40.00 a month why was I charged a second time for $97.00 and she said "that department was closed". I asked to speak to her supervisor and I was told "they are busy" . I have come to two conclusions that one Verizon DSL has EXTREMELY bad customer service and two you will pay more for that EXTREMELY bad customer service and still not have service hooked up. In her defense she did say we could "Try" to trouble shoot and see if they could get me hooked up now. I asked her if she was crazy and said no we went to someone that could hook us up in a timely manner and with out the high costs and EXTREMELY bad customer service. The only problem I have now is getting my money back for a service that was NEVER provided.
