Starting at about 7000 miles, during a highway journey, our XC-90 began giving false computer messages indicating things like, "Tire Pressure System Fault", "SPIN Control Fault", "Air Bag System Fault", which eventually culminated in the vehicle refusing to start. We managed to get it started one more time, and drive it to a Volvo dealer where they swapped out an "ignition switch" . 150 miles later, the false error messages again began, and the car, again, refused to start consistently.

With help from the local AA, I got it to another VOLVO dealer, who could find nothing wrong, reset the computer, and sent me on my way. Of course, a few months later, the dashboard "light show" has started again. Just today, I took it again to our local dealer, who "gave it another SW upgrade", cleared the computer, and sent me on my way. Talk about frustrating. I now have a car that I feel I must outfit with survival gear, should I break down again late at night on some not well traveled road.

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on what I should do given this situation, and if anyone else has experienced similar problems. The was manufactured in Nov 2006 and is a 2007 model.
