Wal-Mart has the worst customer service!
I went to Wal-Mart dept. store on friday night 11/30/07 with my nephew to purchase a car dvd player for my son's birthday.I found a Polaroid PDM-2727 7" two screen car dvd player with remote control, headset etc., there were alot of electronic stuff included. My husband wrapped it up with a gift wrap to surprise him on the next day.On Saturday we had a party for him, after he cut the cake he then opened his present. That's when my husband found two missing items in the box. He didn't waste his time checking the whole box. He just closed the box and said "we have to return it ASAP"; so I went back to the store on Monday 12/03/07 around 11:30 am to exchange the item. They didn't have any of that brain. So I said to the sales associate at the customer service desk that I would return it and get my money back. She said I need to call another associate from that department to check the item before the return. When the sales associate arrived she checked everything that was in the box. She found that the serial # on the two tv did not match. She said to me "You cannot return it because the items don't match". I said to her I need to speak to a manager because it's only been two days since I bought it. And I explained to her it was a present for my son's birthday, we just opened the box and found two items that are missing and I came here to exchange it with my receipt. She repeated herself "You cannot return it because the items don't match". I said to her it is not problem that the items don't match I need to speak to a manager. She said there are no managers in the store. There is only two assistant managers. I said I don't care. I just need to speak to someone that can help me because I am not getting good customer service. She just walked away. I said to the other sale associate that was there to get me a manager or else I am not leaving the store. They just ignored me and helped the other customers. I said to them that I am not a thief and I will never be. I didn't steal anything. I shouldn't be the one paying for it. I kept saying to them that I needed to see a manager. They kept ignoring me. I decided to call my husband and my sister for help. I told them that if the manager doesn't come out to talk to me. I will call the police to search my car and my house and to investigate this case. One of the sales associate said to me the manager won't talk to you because she already said on the phone that she won't take the item back. I said to her I am a customer. I bought something here with my money. If I am not satisfy with the stuff that I purchased I have the right to retun it. If they knew that the item was already opened and returned from a previous customer why did they put it back on the shelf without even checking it? Or may be they did check it and saw that it was used and missing items they just cover it up. After almost two hours of talking to myself and standing on my feet. I said that I would call 911, my lawyer, fox 25, and I would take my receipt back and see them in court that's when one of the assistants came out and said we could only give you a store credit, but no cash. I was so frustrated and disappointed. I should not be treated like that, especially when I did not steal anything.

I was discriminated by those people. I need this complaint to be file immediately to the media, and every single human being all over the world.

Thank you very much,

God Bless You!

Treated Badly at Wal-mart
Tonight I went to Wal-mart thinking I'd get some Purina Cat Chow and a few other items I needed. The shelf was empty with not one bag of Cat Chow. Now this has to be one of their biggest sellers in pet items so I found it odd they were out. I found a male employee and asked if they had any maybe in a back room. (I stick with one brand since I've had vet bills from switching brands).

He got a hand held scanner which showed I think 25 bags which seemed to be in the stock room. He called them and they said no problem they'd have some bags out soon. So I wandered around that area for a good 15 to 20 minutes and no one showed up.

I figured I'd go do the rest of my shopping. I got some laundry soap, creamer for my coffee, and soda where I had to crawl on my hands and knees to reach because none was in the front where it should be. After crawling on my hands and knees reaching for soda I was getting sorta pissed. This is a Super Wal-mart and I was on the other side of the store.

I walked past a couple employees that seemed to be high up since the one was wearing a headset. One was a man, one was a woman. I asked if they were managers and they both responded with a "yes". I said Ok I've been wandering around your store waiting for Cat Chow and I also had to crawl on my hands and knees to get some damn soda. They blamed the vendor of course that he didn't put out enough soda (which was on sale and really cheap) as to why it wasn't stocked. They would have a stern talk with him in the morning. I thought well you lazy SOBs why can't your workers pull some forward because I know if it's on sale it's going to sell faster. I also complained that there had better be Cat Chow in the pet section since I've been wandering around for over 30 to 45 minutes now. They also asked the name of the employee that called to see if they had some cuz maybe his mistake and they really didn't have any. I told them that was BS cuz he went out of his way calling for me and they assured him they had some in the back room. I didn't know his name but I doubt I'd have given it to them since they were such jerks about it.

After I left them I was done shopping except for the Cat Chow. I walked to the other side of the store and I looked at the shelf and it was still empty (no Cat Chow) so by this time I was boiling with anger.

I found another employee who called the dept again who said the Cat Chow was going to be brought up. She was told it should be at the service counter.....Service Counter ???? Why not at the shelves ??? Ok so we went to the service counter and she looked EVERYWHERE. No Cat Chow. I was getting madder by the minute. So she called them again. They told her now they had the pallets of Cat Chow blocked so now I'd have to wait until tomorrow to get some. I wanted to rip someone's head off by this time for wasting a good hour or more of my time. I said screw it and went looking for my cart since the service counter is past the check outs and had to back track. (Hoping they hadn't seen my deserted cart and I had taken it from me.)

As I walked toward my cart wasn't a woman walking by me with PURINA CAT CHOW in her cart!!!! I grabbed her cart and stopped her. I said where the hell did you get this stuff ? I have been wandering around this store for an hour looking for some ???? She said they had found it in the Lay Away Dept and I think she was almost frightened by me and said she had 2 and did I want one ? I grabbed one from her cart, I don't even think I thanked her I was so upset by this time. I truely think I scared her............

I stormed back to the employee that told me I've have to wait until tomorrow and said I want a manager right now! He came up and it was one of the same jerks I talked to earlier. I said I got it from a customer that found it in the Lay Away dept and why was I told all the BS I was told ? He was a real a-hole and said well I guess you got the Cat Chow you were looking for. I never got an apology or anything. All he said was he had contacted them and said to put some on the shelves. I swear if this town was bigger and I had more choices I'd never shop at WAL-MART AGAIN.

Fraud and cheating!
In Independence, MO, Wal-mart seems to have implemented some fairly extreme methods of shoplifting prevention. I say this, because I have been detained at the store on two separate occasions until I have shown proof of purchase for each item and the item itself.

On the first occasion, I purchased a $13 dollar game controller. I was asked to show my receipt by an employee as I was leaving the store. I kindly said no thanks, and continued outside. Although no alarm went off when exiting, a security guard followed me out of the store and demanded that he be shown the contents of the bag I was carrying. I refused, at which point he took the bag from my hand and searched through it himself. After removing the contents of the bag he asked where my receipt was. Unfortunately, the electronics employee had stapled the receipt onto the bag. Somewhere the receipt had fallen off. It could have been when the security guard took the bag.

At this point, he was sure that I had stolen the item and escorted me back into the building. I identified the teller that checked me out, and he said that I had purchased the item. I was still unable to leave though. I was informed that they had to look the purchase up in the database before I was allowed to leave. Thirty minutes later, I was allowed to leave the store with my game controller after they printed off another receipt which they then made me show the person at the front.

On the second occasion, Wal-mart was the only store open at 1 am, so against my better judgment I stopped there to pick up an electronics device that I needed. To my amazement, a similar thing occurred. As I was leaving the store, I was again stopped by a security guard. This one had actually seen me make the purchase for the item I was carrying. He had seen the lady put the product in the bag. He told me that he needed to see what was in my bag. I refused to show him what was in the bag, but I produced a receipt of my purchase. He said it wasn't good enough, and that they needed to check the contents of the bag. Again I refused, and sure enough it was taken from my hand. He then handed it to another person which took the item somewhere else, brought it back, and then said it was "ok". I was then able to leave.

I figured the first time was just unluckiness and some ill-informed employees. After happening two times in a row, I am convinced that this is store policy. The security guards dress in attire similar to police officers and carry a very intimidating tone. They are brutes. I called the store manager, and he just ignored me. I'm waiting until tomorrow to get in contact with someone higher up.

Wal-Marts big lie "We Value Your Opinion"
This is a letter I sent to Mr. Lee Scott the CEO of Wal-Mart on July 25, 2007

3 week has past and I still have not received a response from him or a company rep. I am trying to get the word out that Wal-Mart is full of you know what and dose not value its customers. I plan to go to some of there outlets and try to discourage people from buying Hewlett Packard products. Anybody want to join me? Please pass this on; also if any body has advice for me I would appreciate it.

Dear Mr. Scott, My name is Larry; I shop in your Westfall, PA store. On March 23, 2006 I purchased a Hewlett Packard duel layer cd/dvd reader/ writer disc drive (model DVD 740i). A few months after the warranty ran out so did their drive. This is not the first time I have had a problem with an HP product. I contacted their tech support several times with no luck. When I finely spoke to someone I was told I would have to pay for repairs. The repair would cost more then what I paid for the drive ($79.97). I have other disc drive that I bought from Wal-Mart (not HP), years ago and they still work as good as the day I bought them. HP sells a lot of products from your stores and I don't think it is fair the after buying the HP drive a little over a year ago I should have to pay for repairs or buy another unit. You say that you value my opinion. I hope that's true.

With the power that Wal-Mart has over its venders I would suggest that HP should extend its warranties to at least 2 years as well as there tech support to all Wal-Mart customers

Poor service!
I tried to return a Car Battery to the Wal-Mart in Madison Alabama. It was tested in their battery department and was shown to be defective. It was still in warranty and the cash register showed when the battery was scanned that they owed me a $22.90 pro-rated value. The store manager admitted to me that Wal-Mart owed me the $22.90 but then he made an arbitrary decision and refused to return the money that Wal-Mart owed me. I am furious that they can steal from their customers with impunity. The store manager smiled at me, to let me know that there was nothing I could do about it. I am a middle class person and he represents a large corporation. It is not a large sum, but a theft by a bully is still a theft.

Wal-Mart's Return Policy sucks!
I recently purchased a desktop from walmart and decided I wanted to take it back 22 days later. The box to the computer has never been open and with the receipt they denied the return because of a 15 day policy.

When the computer was purchased I was not advised of this policy. If I were I would of accepted the fact of the denial but I WAS NOT! The customer service rep did assure that compaq would take it back. I just got off the phone with them and after about 2hrs of arguing with them they would not take it back either( Something about wakmart being a third party so they couldn't accept it). Once again this computer has never been touched and I do have a receipt! Not only after this incident did I return a 1300 Tv I purchased for Christmas, I am disgusted with Walmart and the rude customer service reps and I will stop shopping at Wal-Mart and Sams being I spend over 30000 a month at Sams on supplies for my business. One customer may not hurt their business but target and best buy will love more business!

Biased return policy!
I have been a loyal walmart customer for over 20 years, spending thousands of dollars there. In that amount of time I probably returned 3 things to that store. I have never had a problem until this new policy there of returns went into effect. I had received a gift of a digital camera, which was too complicated for me to use, and given as an anonymous gift for a mission trip to me at our church. They did not leave receipt or name, for obvious reasons but did put a note on it that it was bought at walmart. It was sku'd at Walmart and they sell this camera.

When I brought it in, I explained the situation. I was told that, the only thing they would do is... give me another camera. I didn't want money back, but a gift card so I could purchase things for kids for Christmas that wouldn't have anything. They refused to do that, even though they sku'd the camera up, it showed in stock. They said it was due to the money involved. Well, they had no problem TAKING the money for the camera. It was in an unopened box, with tape still attached. The sign at Walmart says they are ready to always satisfy the customer with return, credit or repair. I didn't want another camera==why bring a camera back that you aren't going to use, to only get another one? Makes no sense at all.

Had I bought 600.00 worth of merchandise and returned it all, there would not have been a problem. However, because I returned an ELECTRONICS item, there was. I feel as though they are now treating all their customers as thieves, since they refuse to return ANY electronic item. Had they looked my name up, they would have seen my many, MANY purchases over the years there.

This is so wrong and I am hoping that someone will see this, contact me and allow these kids to get a Christmas, instead of a camera sitting in a closet, collecting dust.

Cancelling the layaway program
Walmart, locations in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas in Pennsylvania

I am rather upset with Walmart's policy to end the layaway program. I just noticed this change while shopping at the Robinson Township Pennsylvania location.

This really upset me and let me explain why. How many single parents, elderly, people with minimum wage jobs, people at or just above the federal poverty level shop at Walmart? I am sure a very large percentage of their customers. What happens to that single parent at Christmas that cannot afford to write out a large check to buy presents? They utilize the layaway program so they can pay a little each month. What about the minimum wage worker who may need some larger ticket items, television, maybe large household items such as tables, chairs, bedding etc? Can they afford to write out a large check all at once? No, because they need to pay rent, utilities, food etc but they can afford a little each month. The elderly who may want to purchase expensive items, if they are only receiving social security how can they afford to pay for such items? They can't. I cannot imagine even the Walmart store employees not utilizing the layaway program because lord knows they are not making much higher than minimum wage.

I just feel the more and more companies are forgetting about the little guy and it is time the CEO's who make millions realize that all of america is not wealthy, many live paycheck to paycheck and by eliminating some services they greatly affect many people. I hope this complaint actually does some justice and it is read by many people who will flood Walmart with complaints and they will change their minds.

Store #0906 manager Eric Holmes
We have shopped in your store from the beginning of when it first opened in Gallup, New Mexico years ago.

We have found your prices and items to be well below the other stores. As far as food items we shopped at A Albertson's before Wal-Mart opened. Safeway always has been highest followed by Albertson's. Once in awhile we go to Safeway for meat that is on sale in which they carry good meat.

As far as clothing there is very little choice Penny's which is high.

When they put up the super I thought with 17 or more check out stations there would be little wait in lines. On an average as far as 20 or more items there is only about 6 that are open except on Holidays. Last evening at 8:30 PM we stood in line for at least 30 to 40 minutes. We started in one line then they shut it down and had to start all over. My wife who has had a bypass and diabetic and both of us are up in age. There were other elderly people who were waiting longer than us A supervisor finally came around and apologized stating that some checkers had called in sick on account of the long weekend. This may be true but I would think that they would have extra checkers that could alleviate this. Safeway calls up checkers from the back when there lines get backed up. Last night they were baked up in the isles and down the isles. This isn't the first time that this has happened but numerous times.

We spend on the average of at least $300.00 per week at your store and with the amount of business there is I think that this store could well afford to take care of their customers better. What I think is that the manager is trying to make a bigger bonus and a feather in his hat at the expense of the customers.
I don't know if I have ever seen him. I have seen a young blond haired guy which looks like had authority running around but I have no idea who he is.He isn't very friendly with the customers.

I hope that this will be looked into and straightened out and not tossed aside. If not you will hear from me again.
