Do honor their own prices
My wife and I were outside of Walmart looking at some patio furniture and there was a mothers day sign on the furniture for $100 and the regular price was $286. I went into the store to find an employee to verify the price. The employee looked at the price and stated it could be the price because sometimes we have huge sales and nevertheless the furniture was sitting in the rain all night. The employee scanned the item and it said it came up as $286 but she will check with her manager to make sure. The employee called her manager and her manager stated since it came up as $286 thats what the price was. So I left it alone and proceeded to do my shopping. As we walked walked another 30 yards in the store their was another patio set with a mothers day sign on it that stated it was $286 and the regular price was $486. So we went back to the employee and questioned the pricing again. Once again they stated the price was $486 even though the sale price on that piece of furniture was marked as well. To make a long story short we spoke with the store managers and they blamed the miss pricing on kids changing the numbers on their signs and they even blamed it on the wind blowing the numbers off of the sign. To me this was an employee error that I caught and they will not honor the price. As soon as I started complaining the employees quickly started changing the numbers on the signs back to the original price. The managers have acknowledged their error and the only thing Im getting is were sorry. Which is not enough from a leader in the retail industry.

Sometimes you have to wait in the check out lanes for 20 to thirty minutes
The Walmart store of Gallup New Mexico is the store that we do 99% of our shopping .. The main items are groceries in which we spend a great deal of money. My wife and I are gettting along in age and she has major health problems. Sometimes you have to wait in the check out lanes for 20 to thirty minutes. This is the result that they only have about 8-10 lines open out of 35. I have complained over the internet three or four time to no avail.
In talking to an employee that they should hire more cashiers he stated they do but they dont show up half the time calling in sick or whatever. This is due to the low wages and a big responsibility there is. Accordingly they start them out at $6.00 hr in which is way below of what they should get. Other store cashiers get from $10.00 on up. I know Walmart could well afford to pay these people with the business they do.

I do not however deserve to be treated rudely because the cashier is having a bad day
My husband and I went through the holiday section because sign everywhere said 50% off holiday items. I picked up a candleabra from a shelf marked with a 50% off sign where there where at least 3 or 4 other candleabras. When I reached the check out it rang up for full price. I asked the cashier "i thought that was 50% off" she responded sarcastically "We sell this all the time." I said "oh, well how much are the tea lights normally?" (Also in a box marked 50% off) and her response was again sarcastic "We sell those all the time too" I said "Well, I dont understand why they were on the shelf marked 50% off" She says "Well, I dont know why they were back there" and proceeds, I said "Well, go ahead and take the candleabra off" she does and then starts to pull the tea lights back out and I said "No, thats ok I will go ahead and get those" When I went to write a check I asked her if I could borrow her pen. She acted annoyed and snatched it out of her hair and set it on the counter, I wrote my check and then handed it o her only to have her snatch it out of my hand. when she she handed my receipt she very rudely said "Thank you" and started to check out the next customer, I stopped and said "Im sorry if Ive irritated you" She turned to me and said "I said Thank you" Then turned to the customers behind me and proceed to start complaining to them about me. Personally, this is not appropriate customer service but it seems to be common for the Walmart in Thomasville, GA. 75% of the associated there seem to be miserable about their jobs and take it out on the customers. I understand that this time of year there are a lot of cranky, rude customers. I worked in the retail businness for a long time. I do not however deserve to be treated rudely because the cashier is having a bad day.

Avoid this store like a plague
On the above date my daughter and I appeared at store #8090 in orlando florida like we did for the past 21/2 years, my daughter is handicap and can not walk two steps and she depends on the electric power carts to shop. We were told that the electric carts could not be taking out of the store because IRON REFORCE BARS WERE INSTALLED ON THEM SO THEY COULD NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE STORE, I was able to get one out anyway. After an hour of shopping my daughter had to go to the ladies room, knowing that the power chairs could not make the turn into the ladies room by customer services, I had taken her to the ladies room in back of the store next to layaway, when we try to go thru the doorway the iron bar was higher then the doorway opening so I bent it to get my daughter to the toilet on time, I was yelled at by a heavy set girl who said I cant bend the rod and was told she will call the manger. A older lady named Stephanie came out from the back room yelling that I could not take the into that handy cap bathroom I ask her what restroom are the handicap to use, she said the one up by customer service, at that time I told her that the power carts could not make the turn. To my surprise nasty she replied "that the power carts are a supplied by Wa l- Mart as a Courtesy" as she was walking from me and saying repeatedly "I cant hear you".

Clueless people
I bought a few things there and used my debit card. swiped and requested $100 cash back. Transaction completed and then the stupid girl said she couldn't give me $100 because she didn't have that much in the drawer. That was it! She had no intention of giving me MY money after they debited it out of the bank. Not only that, when I asked for a manager, she told me "the manager doesn't have time" Since I obviously needed to cause a scene, The manager finally came over and explained to the dumb girl that she had to give me the money. This girl needs to go back to kindergarten.

Straight talk phone dis-service
Straight talk tech advises that I can longer upload photos from phone to computer even though I was able to before. When calling for support I get the run around and must continue calling and speaking to very polite no-help providing foreign "clones"?

Embarrassing experience
Betty at Walmart in Crystal Lake, IL, who was a manager in May of 2003, interviewed me for a position. She asked me a question about when and how long it took me to get training at Target in Ogden, Utah, and I answered wrong. She then said I was slow, and one of her employees who was in on the interview with me and Betty agreed. Then they both laughed at the fact that I was slow.

They are not following their posted return policy
Today I tried to return a car code reader to Walmart in Germantown, MD.
At the returns department, Eboni interrogated me, which included asking whether I've used the car code reader.
I replied that I've tried it once. Looking just like new, the car code reader's neatly in its original packagings, along with everything that came with it.
Eboni arrived at the conclusion that I used it (and she would later repeatedly stress and emphasize that it's USED) and therefore she could only give me an exchange or store credit.
She claimed that the posted return policy said that a return merchandise must be unopened and unused for a refund.
She also implied that she's correct, saying that she's been working at Walmart for 11 years.
My friend and I asked her to tell us where in the posted policies that said what she claimed but she just repeated that it's in the policies posted.
We then proceeded to read the entire return policy posted with all the exceptions and confirmed that nowhere in the policies stated that the return merchandise must be unopened and unused except that 'prerecorded music, movies, and software products must be returned unopened.'
I guess in all the 11 years she had worked at Walmart processing returns, not once had she spent 5 minutes to read the posted return policy.
We told her that her claim was contradictory to the posted return policy but she didn't change her mind. Nor did she at least try to read the posted policy to prove us wrong.
Eboni recruited 3 more Walmart employees to get involved - 4 people against 2. If my friend weren't there with me, 4 against 1.
We again pointed out what the posted policy said. In response, we were provided with several unreasonable answers:
1. 'The said policy is in the internal written procedures.'
My friend and I were handed some printed papers that supposedly contained their claim.
It's unreasonable because there should not be additional exceptions to the posted policy in the store unbeknowst to the customers.
2. 'The said policy is spelled out on the website.'
Firstly, I bought the item from the Walmart store, not online at Walmart.com.
Secondly, the said policy cannot be found in the Walmart store (vs. Walmart.com) return policy online.
http://walmartstores.com/7658.aspx
Thirdly, http://www.walmart.com/cp/Returns-Policy/538459#37441 is Walmart.com return policy, not Walmart store return policy.
Fourthly, even Walmart.com's 'Return Guidelines by Department' do not include any policy exception for car code readers.
3. 'There are different return policies for different departments.'
All return policies, including policies specific to different departments, should have been posted in the store.
4. 'We can't post all return policies in the store.'
Why not?
5. 'If merchandise could be used and returned for a refund, then everyone would be doing it.'
It's about what the posted policy allowed. Possible ramifications of the posted policy were irrelevant.
After spending a lot of time and efforts, a refund was eventually granted.

Work ethics
My wife used to work at Walmart and I can tell you that it is a terrible place to work. A deli associate was let go because she was unable to work because she was sick. She had seen a doctor and discovered that she had pneumonia. Walmart fired her for calling in sick, even though she had a note from a doctor. Another deli associate was let go because her husband had kidnapped their child and she was told by police to go to the station. She recovered the child but lost her job because she had to leave work. Walmart no longer hires full-time workers and are inventing reasons to get rid of the full-time workers that they have to save money on employee benefits. They also show anti-union video to new employees. There are no Walmart stores in New York because businesses are required to be union affiliated. Our daughter worked at a Walmart in Illinois when Obama was running for president. Walmart employees were being urged not to vote for Obama because he would raise minimum wage. Walmart is at the top of my s...list and should be run out of any town or city that they reside. My wife left Walmart to work for a company that is union, has a code of conduct that is required to be followed by all that includes honesty, integrity and work ethic, the basis of their core values. Walmart is all about their bottom line and they don't care how they get it. They should be very ashamed of the company. I want them to change how they operate their company. I need assistance to do this by having the ability to show how unhappy people are with them. If you have a complaint, or even a compliment, E-mail it to [email protected] and help me make a difference.
