Wells Fargo Credit Reporting-Dispute on record
Many years ago (at least 8 years ago) I disputed something on my credit with Wells Fargo. It was corrected. I have an over 800 credit score and no late payments with any creditor on my credit report. However, Wells Fargo left that I once disputed something on my credit report. When going for a new mortgage this month, the underwriter said they could not approve the loan because starting in November 2009 Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will not buy loans if the credit report has a dispute on it, even if there a no late payments or you score is well over 800.
When I called Wells Fargo, the only solution is to send a fax which would take 30 days to look at. I was transferred to several people in the credit department. Each time I asked to speak to a manager and they would then say "I am the manager." In most cases it sounded as if they were following a script and in a call center in India. They had little knowledge of what I was talking about. I mentioned I was a customer for 38 years and they would say how nice... No one there can do anything so the scheduled closure for my home failed. After being with Wells Fargo with the same account for 38 years, I am ready to leave. Something really terrible has happened to the service at Wells Fargo and the clearly do not have employees who know how to provide service. When I asked one person if I could speak to a customer advocate or escalate to a different customer service he said "I am customer service." I asked what kind of service do you provide?" He said, I help customers. I asked if he could help me? He said, "no".
