My daughter ordered her wedding cake from Whitman's Bakery in Waynesville, NC. Her wedding was Oct 17.

The trouble started on wedding morning, cake was not ready because they had been "slammed" by a festival in town. This is not something my daughter should have to worry about on wedding day! And this cake that was ordered months earlier should have come before the festival!

When we finally got the cake it was lop-sided, no matter which way you turned it, it did not look straight. Cake was supposed to be square, it was round. It was supposed to have brown dots, they were butterscotch colored and not uniform in size.

Grooms cake was supposed to be strawberry, it was yellow. both cakes were dry and tastless, like they had been baked days before.

The bakery has been cold and uncaring, they have hung up on us and owner has refused to come to the phone. They have no interest in trying to give even a partial refund.

I will never darken their door again, and will tell anyone I can about the service we have received.

By the way...the cake cost $500.
