Winter Park Dodge is a dealership to be avoided. I answered an internet ad on Autotrader for a 1999 Dodge Dakota RT advertised for 5999.00 The photos appeared to be a pristine truck and I was anxious to purchase. Once there, I contacted the internet sales person whose name was on the internet ad. He handed me off to an inexperienced boy who spoke poor english, when I made the offer he needed help from another gentlemen who barely spoke english. Then, they went to the sales manager who came back with a list of NADA printouts that did not match the ones I printed from the Kelley Blue Book site. He then had to talk to the sales manager. I was handled and ran around by five different sales people for a beat down old truck that I wanted to pay cash for. When I inspected the truck, the bumpers were covered by paint on 50% of the surface, as well as the bed sides on the top rails were rubbed down to bare metal and rusting. The tail pipe was wired with a coat hanger and the front suspension was in need of a rebuild. I returned the next day with a reasonable offer since the motor ran well and the truck was worth refurbishing for the right price. High retail was 4800 for a pristine vehicle. This one was rough and I offered 3200. It was accepted and I was signing the paper work when I read the total for tax tag and title transfer and a 700.00 dealer delivery fee. This was nearly 25% the price of the truck. No mention of these fees, the truck was not detailed or even inspected by a mechanic. Absolutely no justification for this fee. No respectable dealership would put a car on the lot with coat hangers holding on the exhaust pipes. I was told that all contracts have this charge and they cannot be removed. So I guess if I bought a car worth 200.00 I would still pay a 700.00 dealer delivery fee. What a bunch of ignorant crooks. They will not only try to rob you but they insult your intelligence as well. Buyer beware. There are several dealerships in the area that I have worked with that are genuinely good businesses. This place is run by a bunch of goodfellas and I would run like hell to another dealership before laying down a nickel with these criminals.
