heartless
I have been a member off and on with World Health Club since 2000. My company was paying for my gym membership and we are moving locations so our membership will expire at the end of this month, June 2011. I have broken my wrist and I still have 6 personal training sessions to use. I called them and asked what are we able to do I am unable to work out till August. I was told that to use my sessions in August I could pay $100 to use my sessions or walk away. The other option I have is use my sessions before the 30th. Because I am unwilling to pay 100 more dollars to use my $300 dollars of training and I am not willing to walk away I am forced to train with a broken wrist.
Way to go World Health you prompt healthy lifestyles what is healthy about forcing someone to work out with a broken bone?

Taking money from account after agreed termination of contract
Do not join World Health Club. They will continue to charge you after your contract has been terminated, even after being informed what they are doing is unlawful.
I left World Health Club in December 2010 and paid the agreed leaving fee. For some reason in April 2011, they commenced charging me again and have backdated the payments! The money just is extracted from your credit card without any notification. They also denied the amount of money I paid them was a leaving fee.
Currently in the process of raising a civil claim with them for their fraudulent actions.
Stay well clear of World Health. Do not sign anything they give you.

Scammed Me Month After Month
World Health Club were charging me unknown charges on my pre-authorized credit card. I went in on Aug 06, 2010 and made a complaint and the administration rep refuse to fix the problem so I got fed up and I cancelled my membership. They require a 30 days notice so I said fine. The rep told me my cancellation will be back dated to Aug 1st and my final membership date is the 31st. Comes Sept 2nd, I got a another month of membership charged on my credit card. I went back in and they told me I have to pay another month because my billing cycle is on the 2nd so the system will start the 30 day notice on the 2nd of September. I asked to speak to a manger but ending talking with the assistant manager but he was even more ruder then the administration girl. I ask to speak to someone who is higher up but he refuses to give me this manager name and number. Then he tried to call security to escort me out because I demanded to speak with his manager's name. I told them that he doesn't have to call security and gave him one last sentence. "YOU CAN KEEP THE EXTRA MONTHS CHARGE AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR A$$ AS CHARITY BECAUSE PATHETIC PEOPLE LIKE YOU NEED IT. IT'S JUST POCKET CHANGE TO ME!"

misleading won't stop charges
Misleading and continue to charge my credit card! I wanted a place to work out for 2 months until university finished. Went to World Health Club North Hill on a free trial, BIG MISTAKE! if you get one of these in the mail recycle immediately! High pressure sales and misleading OMG. I explained to Bruce that I would only be in town for another 2 months, so I didn't want a year membership like he was pushing. He said I could sign up and cancel any time if I was moving. I should never have believed him. He outright lied to me. I called to inform them I was moving and cancel the membership and they said I signed a year contract and could not cancel. Nobody there would acknowledge that I was mislead and lied to, so I assume this happens a lot. Even after calling the head office and complaining they said they could cancel if I went back to the North Hill location and had them sign the approval. Sounds like a run around. They already said they wouldn't and I have already moved so that won't happen real soon. Meanwhile they are sucking money from my credit card every 2 weeks, while I am fighting with them to cancel. If you are getting pressure to sign a contract DONT! just go! try some place you can pay once per month. Don't believe what Bruce tells you, if his lips are moving it is probably not true.

Continued billing after cancellation
Continued billing 3 months after cancellation. No repsonse to numerous calls to administration, no answer and no returned calls.

Kept Billing after membership cancelled
I completed my year long contract with the World Health Club gym and then canceled this membership on June 6 2009. As of January of 2010 I am still being billed. I have been promised by the owner of the location where I had signed up that the problem was rectified only to find out that the problem is still there and now this person I had spoken to has moved on to other employment. The current manager is not returning my phone calls so I guess I will continue to be billed by them until I close that bank account even though this is a huge inconvenience to me. Beware when dealing with this company. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will have to sue to get my money back. BEWARE!!!
