Don't Advertise w/ YellowPages.com!
I placed and a print ad as well as an online ad with YellowPages.com this past year. My original intention was just to advertise in the phonebook, but was informed that I could add an online ad for an extra $39.95 which could be canceled at any time. Well with the state of the current economy, my business closed down. I paid off the print for the rest of the year, but was told that it was impossible for me to cancel my online ad. So, I am paying to advertise a company that no longer exists. I call the YellowPages quite frequently and ask them to please remove my company from their site, because not only are they charging me, but I am getting unwanted phone calls from people that have seen the ad.

I didn't want to pay them at all, because the ad was definitely not what I expected and did not include the company's logo which I had sent them. But since the phonebooks is not exactly something that can be canceled after it has been printed, I felt it was my obligation to pay. As for the online ad, it is just ridiculous to me that they refuse to take it down. I have been trying to cancel it for the past year and have racked up a bill of around $300 because I am refusing to pay for a service that is not needed or wanted.

Does anyone know how far the YellowPages will actually carry this thing out? They call me every day and leave messages and constantly send me letters. I have paid them right around $2, 000 for nothing, but cannot see a point in giving them anymore for an online ad that I have been trying to cancel for a year. The $300 that I still owe isn't much compared to how much I have paid them, but I don't want to give into a company that clearly has no business ethics and operates by scamming people out of their money. I don't want to ruin my credit over something so dumb, but is there another way around this ordeal?

BAD COMPANY!
Wow! In a way, I'm glad to hear that we're all in the same boat! We also sent a letter to cancel our contract because they did not deliver on the contract agreement. They just called me today to tell me I was 2 months overdue! So, people under contract only get in trouble when it's the little guy who breaks the contract? How about their promises? How come they are not getting in trouble for this? I am definitely interested in a lawsuit. Can somebody get something going? I am not sure how it works, really. Maybe I should contact my lawyer. When this is all over, I am going to owe them over $3500 because they won't cut my add. It's not like it's in the paper book. It's online for God sake's! The removal of my add is only a click away. Worse thing is that ever since I told them I wanted to terminate my contract, the clicks started to come in a little (nowhere near what they said it would be)! Grrrrr! I hate when people do bad business! Bad karma my friends! Bad karma for them! If you work for them, you should quit! You don't want that on your conscience!

Horrible to cancel!!!!!!
Had 1 year contract. Sales rep called to see if I wanted to renew contract on expiration. Told her no. She wanted to give me statistics and other stuff. I had to go and said call me or email me tomorrow to get her off the phone. Did not say I would renew and wanted to cancel. She called everyday will sales info. etc. On original call wanted affirmative to stay, now says she never got a negative I wanted to cancel... "Why would I keep calling if you had asked to cancel?" SCAM...

LIES AND SCAMS
Save yourself hours of frustration and run far far away from this company. From day one unauthorized withdrawels from our bank account, hours of being on hold, being hung up on, and lied to were never ending. Almost everything they say is a scam...the reports are bogus and you have to hound them to send them to you.

Their is no corporate office or building you can go to...they work from home and if you do reach them they sound half asleep and they just transfer you around for about an hour.

This was the worst investment of money ever...please do not use them they are the absolute worst company I have ever come across.

DO NOT! I REPEAT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THEIR ADVERTISING!

fraudulent sales practices
Salesperson agreed to hold contract until Monday at 4 for me to check references and check with marketing. Informed them in writing at 11 to unwind the deal. Salesperson proceeded to put the contract through, and now they are saying there is nothing they can do.

These guys are expert liars and cheats. Beware!!

Stupid service
A yellowpages.com representative called me and we setup a meeting to discuss advertisement. During this meeting the rep's computer would not accept a digital signature, so he printed out a copy for me to sign. Upon signing the agreement we had a verbal agreement the contract would not go live until I gave them the go ahead, the rep also agreed to send me a copy of the contract/order.

I emailed them that same day stating I would not be able to use there service. No response was received. One week later I emailed them again, they said there 'spam filter' must have caught the email as they never got it, they also stated that the contract went live and that they could not stop it now.

I responded asking for a copy of the contract and order, they failed to send one.

Because this service was unwanted I refused to pay them. Now they have a collections agency coming after me for 12 months of service(I only got 4 before they canceled). The contract stated that they have the right to cancel, but does not state that I would need to pay for 12 months.

I asked the collections department if I could cancel my service and I would pay for the 4 months. They stated that I cannot cancel, as it is there decision to make. There was also several misspellings and misleading phrases in my ads.

Billing for unwanted advertising!
YellowPages.Com even after being told NO, billed my company for advertising thru a company that bills thru Embarq.
The Embarq person that I talked to said that they get a lot of that and that must hope you don't catch it or forget to tell them you don't want it. Upon calling YellowPages.Com to stop this billing they tried to get me to look at the advertisement which I refused and then told me all that I would loose if I canceled this ad but did agree to cancel any further charges and they would agree to take off the current charge. the Company that bills for Yellow Pages told me I would have to pay the current charge. I'm not going to pay. And they had the nerves to call me to get me to go for another ad... free... and just call if I want it.

Yellowpages a scam!
I signed up with yellowpages.com may of 2007. From the very beginning, my ad was never right. My ad rep was sexually inappropriate after I had already signed up indicating he might have gotten a young ad rep co-worker drunk and taken advantage of her. When I tried to make changes to my ad either by phone or e-mail I never got a response back. My ad rep was fired and I did not find out for 6 weeks. I tried to reach anyone who could help me and I reached another ad rep and he said he would help me and would call me back on Sept 28th at 4pm to fix the problems, still no call back and when I would call or e-mail messages I would get no response. The ad had wrong prices about my business which upset customers and and the ad also had my home address instead of my business address which is 25 minutes away which customers that called didn't want to drive that far. Also, massage is a business that can be dangerous because of the Asian "happy ending" massage places giving a bad name. I did have a guy actually show up at my house wanting a massage one day and it scared that daylights out of me. I pretended that he must have made a mistake. The guy was creepy and I had been afraid to be in my house alone and I make my husband answer that door now. I am very disappointed in that way I was treated from this company, especially the fact that I was paying $2000 a month and no one even bothered to reassign me a new ad rep or return my calls or e-mails. What if I was raped or killed?

I would like Yellowpages.com to cancel the charges, do not send this to collections. I had canceled my credit card that yellowpages.com was billing and I disputed that charges and won the dispute. I have not paid any other additional bills. I feel that I was ripped off and they did not hold their end of the contract.
