I received a call from a Chuck Rivers stating that they wanted to buy my timeshare. I had not contacted them, but somehow they got my number and called me. They said they would pay me for my timeshare, and that I would receive the money in 24 days. I just needed to send them a check for $1, 404 to check for leins and that the units were free and clear, and that I would receive the money back at the close. I was contacted by Jack McCarron from Universal Marketing who told me that they had a buyer for my points for $32, 000. He said that I would have a check within 70 days, and that if the sale didn't go through I would get my money back after 120 days. All I had to do was pay the $899 marketing fee and wait for my check. During that time I received calls from two other sales people who had no idea I currently had a contract with their company.
